Ha ha! We weren't really nude, but we SHOULD have been, it was so dang hot!! I skipped a couple hours of my classes this day so we could head to AK. (This was a lawyer's conference; we'd never had a conference even out of state before, much less at such a cool place as DW!!) I tried to do things on this trip I had never done before, so we did It's Tough to be a Bug (great fun!); Dinosaur (fun fun fun), and Tarzan Rocks. There is a bird show called Flights of Wonder that I not only have never done myself, I had never *heard* of anyone else doing it either! It's awesome! My DD7 laughed in this show harder than she did all week (she thinks birds are really cute). We left early in the afternoon b/c DS3 had a meltdown! He saw Toy Story toys in the gift shop and just went nuts (we have every Toy Story toy known to man already)...he wouldn't even be distracted by ice cream! We had a party to go to that evening, so we just headed back to the hotel and rested and cleaned up.

The party was at GF and it was a cookout, with barbecue chicken, grilled veggies, salads, and the most yummy fudge brownies (with icing!!) I've ever had. Two cool things about the party: they had a caricature artist there doing portraits for free and he did both my kids. DS3 did not want to sit in the chair to be drawn, he just wanted down and so he was fighting and kicking and pushing his sister away to try to get down; she was of course trying to get him to stay seated (DH was holding onto DS too)...so the artist drew my kids fighting with each other! It was too funny...in the pic, they're both smiling, but they are pushing each other and saying "Did not" and "Did too!" How in the world that artist captured their eyes so perfectly was a mystery to me...I don't think my son must've looked at him for more than a few seconds! That portrait is probably cooler than any photo we have of the kids; DH and I just fell in love with it b/c it really is THEM and I framed it as soon as we got home so we can hang it somewhere.

The next surprise at the cookout was Mickey! He came to visit and the first one to see him was my DS3...DS was lurking in this stairwell (our cookout was outdoors, but DS kept playing around the door to the hotel) (do you see a pattern here? DS is a HANDFUL lol) anyway, we could still keep an eye on him in this stairwell and that is where Mickey came out!! Suddenly we saw Mickey's big white gloved hand go around our son! He was hugging him! DS came flying out of there!! It scared him! He loves Mickey though and hung around and got a couple pictures with him...Mickey even came to our table afterwards and pretended to drink DS's drink! DS just grinned at him! He was so mesmermized by Mickey, it was adorable. As we left the party, DD7 was saying "Gee, I didn't know the party would be FUN" and DH agreed saying he thought it was just going to be a bunch of stuffy old lawyers sitting around. Wow, thanks. I can see what my family thinks of me and my profession!

Your party sounded lots of fun - glad your son and Mickey made up - thanks for posting!

We, too, were amazed with Flights of Wonder and hadn't heard much about it either. We just sort of happened upon it. It turned out to be one of our favorite things. My oldest son, 10, has been learning A LOT about birds this year in 4th grade and he has really peaked an interest in them so he was just thrilled with this show.

Glad you liked it too!!

Flights of Wonder is one of my favorite shows in WDW. Anytime I reply to a post about the AK, I always recommend it. Sounds like another great day!
