Me - KCDISDAD

DD7- Casey, The one with the attitude, sometimes
DD5 - Amy, The shy and slooow one
Awakened- what is that? some kid is bouncing a basketball in the room upstairs. What time is it? midnight!!! What in the name of Mickey Mouse is some kid doing pounding that ball upstairs...what's that flashing outside, oh wait.. It's fireworks!!! Must be the midnight fireworks from MNSSHP. Joann wakes up and we watch the entire show without even getting out of bed. How awesome is this?!
I wake up at 6:30 (I am an early riser and love my morning coffee time) and go down for coffee for myself and tea for Joann (I can be thoughtful when I think about it). It's early entry day at MK and we get the girls up about 7. Now the surprise. Daddy snuck 2 t-shirt$ with all the Princesses pictured on the front just for today. We have a 10:20 P$ at the Royal Table. Of course my girls look at them and say "No dad, we want to wear theeeese shirts"
So much for that surprise.
We take the boat over to MK and on the way I get a beautiful picture of the sunrise over Bay Lake and our boat coming out of the fog to pick us up. We arrive just as the gates are opening and must head immediately to Dumbo (we are following the Dumbo or Die Plan). There is one problem with this plan-it does not take into account trying to get my Amy all the way across the park, and Joann past all the characters scattered on Main Street.
When we finally get to Dumbo, Amy will not go on. She is going to be a very tough sell on the rides. This is where I realize that all my careful planning is for nought. Tail between my legs I stuff my itemized tour sheet in the nearest Trash receptacle and resign myself to having a good time anyway.
After Dumbo, we ride Peter Pan, Pooh, Small World (even Casey has heard from friends that this song in your head can be a very dangerous thing), Cindy's Carousel, and the Mad Tea Party all with little or no wait. Amy is starting her grumbling about her stomach getting angry. This means trouble if we don't get some food in her soon. Good, it's time to head to the Castle for the Prince$$ Breakfa$t.
We arrive a tad early and get seated right away. Oh oh! where are all the Princesses? Amy is getting very nervous, and her stomach is growing angrier by the second. Food is now coming, where are The %^@*^^ Princesses. Finally, there's ... who is that!?? Aurora dad, don't you know anything. She starts at the table next to us and starts going the other way, as they all do. I assure my Princesses that we will go nowhere until we have a Princess to princess meeting.
Finally, we get autographs and pix with Aurora, Snow White, Mary Poppins, Belle, and of course Cinderella (now Amy is happy having been fed and getting to meet her favorite Princess). When we get downstairs we have The Fairy Godmother all to ourselves for about 5 minutes. The girls get a story and I secretly ask for FG to sprinkle some magic speed dust on Amy and some anti attitude potion for Casey.
Then it was off to Adventure Land for Jungle Cruise and Tiki Birds, then over to Tomorrowland for a FP for Buzz and the Speedway. The girls enjoyed Mickey Ice Cream$ (must keep Amy's tummy happy) while we waited for Buzz. Buzz was a blast and Dad scored BIG maintaining his Kingly status that is so difficult in a household with a Queen and 2 Princesses.
By now the girls (especially AMY) are starting to drag so I galllantly take them back to the room for some R&R (Translation-it's Sun afternoon and I can sneak some football on the tube in), while Joann stays behind to do a little $hopping on Main Street.
We decide later to go to Fort Wilderness and eat at Trail'$ End and do the campfire sans movie. The food here was disappointing-reminded me of Ponderosa. The ribs just don't hold a candle to what we can get in KC. The campfire was OK if you don't mind refereeing to 2 semi-cranky kids armed with weapons (marshmallow sticks). We met a nice family from SC on the walk back to the boat launch. It's amazing how easily kids can make friends, it was hugs and kisses by the time we said goodbye.
Overall, another full and fun day.
