Cast--DH (40), me (40), DD#1 (11), DD#2 (8), DS (5)
We were up at 7 ish to check out of the Dolphin and head to the Contemporary. I had seen at Epcot the night before that MK hours were 9-12--I found out later it opened at 8! We checked into the Contemp. around 8:30, leaving our bags as we had our fanny packs packed and ready. The GREAT counter girl, Ann Marie, said there were no MK views--then said there WAS one, but it was smoking. DD#1 gave me a big eye roll (she thinks she is allergic to smoke and I let her think that, so she never starts) but I took it. Ann Marie said we could get it sprayed if it was bad. It wasn't ready anyhow. We were making small talk and I mentioned we had been at MGM and hadn't gotten to ride the big 2 rides. She made a note and told me she would call me later and see what she could do, although I didn't know what that meant.
We headed to my favorite, MK! First we did Philharmagic with a 20 min. wait, which we loved! Then we got FPs for Splash Mt. and did HM and Goofy's Jamboree while we waited. We had never done the Jamboree and DS was thrilled to see Woody and Jessie. It was a lot of fun. Then we did Splash which we all love. We hopped on the train to Toontown and got off and walked to tomorrowland--DD#1 got 2 FPs for Buzz (4:30) while I got 3 for Space Mt. (6:40!)--this was at 12:10! We thought DS was too short for Space so I'd take him on Buzz. We headed over for some lunch at Casey's at that point. We saw the 1PM parade from a distance for a while, and Barry Bonds was the grand marshall! I had never seen anyone famous except for CP narrators, so I thought that was cool. While the parade went on we went to adventureland and waited 30 min. (60 min. posted) for Pirates. We then hopped over and it had been long enough so we got 8:30 FPs for Splash Mt. (It was about 3). We then did the Hall of Presidents for the first time, and then did a little shopping. I was surprised to see Kirsten Storms and Alexis Thorpe in the Emporium! Kirsten Storms is Belle on Days of Our Lives, while Alexis Thorpe used to be Cassie on the same show. Kirsten is also Xenon, Girl of the 21st Century on the Disney channel and has been a guest on That's So Raven--so I pointed her out to DD#1. She flipped out and wanted to take a picture, but I urged her to be cool about it and let the girls shop. They were very skinny and Kirsten asked for an XS T-shirt--must be nice!
DD#1 could not stop talking about her experience. We headed to tomorrowland so DS and I could do Buzz, then we did the TTA and CoP, then Timekeeper. We ate at the Plaza at 6. It was good but our service was a little slow. Then we went over to Space Mt. and got a baby swap while the DDs and I went on. This fastpass was NOT very fast--we waited 20 or 25 minutes, although the standby line was 110 minutes. Meanwhile, the girl measured DS and he was JUST 44"! So when DDs and I finished she let DH take DS on his baby swap. He loved it--he loves all rides. Then we hustled over for our Splash Mt. FP and rode it in the dark. We then got to Liberty Square before Wishes and saw it with a couple of buildings obstructing it, but it was still cool. We made our way out of the park and back to the contemporary on the monorail. We had room 4428 on the 8th floor--and it was AWESOME!!!! We had a complete panoramic view from TTC to past MK, but the best was the MK view! The room was also very big--bigger than the Poly. Actually we like the contemp. better than the poly! We got a mug, a few iced teas, the kids played in the arcade. We had a message from Ann Marie when we got back. She told us to contact a friend of hers at MGM, who would get us priority seating to the 11AM Beauty and the Beast show on 1/1, then passes for RnR and ToT!!!! WOW! Her last day was Sat. 1/3 and for some reason she decided to do this awesome thing for us! We are still thrilled about it. We washed up and went to bed.
