Woke up at 6am, dozed on and off until 7.45am when I got up. Wake up call came at 8am. Once we were ready we packed the remaining things and went over to the food court. Returned to the room at 10.15am and waited for our luggage to get picked up. It was due to be collected at 11am. He eventually turned up at 11.15am by which time we were sitting outside the room because the air conditioning was making me cold. The CM apologised for being late, we told him it was fine we weren’t in a hurry to leave.
Walked over to the food court after saying goodbye to my Jamaica beach and my hammock, I know I’m sad but I really wasn’t ready to leave. Had lunch in the food court and then walked over to Barbados, sat on the beach here for a while but it was getting really really hot. We headed over to Customs House at 1.20pm. Got our luggage at 2pm and sat outside to wait for our Mears pick up at 2.35pm. Heard one CM tell another that one of his luggage pick up was 10 cases for 2 people!!! Mears bus arrived at 2.35pm and grudgingly we got on the bus. Must point out we had more luggage than a family of four who also got on the bus with us.
Check in at the airport didn’t take long at all and the flight was on time. The queue for x-ray was 20 minutes long and the man behind us was shouting for a fast pass, he must have been in Disney too long. Shoes, hand luggage and bodies all x-rayed and we were able to board the monorail. Had a Burger King and then went down to the boarding gate. Settled myself down on the floor just as they announced they were going to begin boarding, it would seem I had parked in the queue area so I had to move. Looked longingly at the Club Class passengers as they boarded, Premium Economy went next and then me. I was in the 3rd last row of the plane in a two seater, the leg room was better than it was in the row we flew out in so we were happy. I was even happier to discover I had adults behind me, I usually have a child who kicks my seat (I get enough of that at work). Flight was very turbulent to begin with, it was like being on Big Thunder Mountain. Every time the captain put the seatbelt light off he had to put it back on again. One of the times this happened the cabin crew were beside me with the drinks trolley. It was wobbling all over the place and it took two of them to hold it down. Meal was nice, had a choice of three things though I can’t remember what the choices were. Flight was pretty uneventful and we arrived at London Gatwick at 5.55am.

Luggage came really quick and we sprinted through nothing to declare at customs smiling at the nice officers. Boarded the monorail and headed over to the North Terminal and checked in for our British Airways flight. I took the airline labels of the holdalls while we were in the queue. As we were about to put the bags up I remembered I hadn’t taken off the Virgin labels and when I did this I dropped everything else. The BA lady was very nice and said she would take them off for me but by this time I already had them off and once I had gathered all the rubbish from the floor she put it in the bin for me. Our BA flight was due to leave on time at 10am. It was 6.50am. We went straight to departures and were impressed with the security here. They took a photo of your group. By this point tiredness was taking over. The man told Tricia to move over a little but with my tired eyes I thought he was looking at me so I moved and he couldn’t see Tricia at all. Eventually he got me in the right place and took the photo and put a little barcode on the boarding pass which was scanned before we got on the plane and our photo came up on the screen. Went for a drink and I read more of my Harry Potter book. We went to the gate at 9.20am and saw the cabin crew person who served me my breakfast waiting for a plane too. Flight to Glasgow took off at 10.15am. Flight only took an hour and I spent the whole flight sitting with a glazed expression on my face. We were given a chicken sandwich which was nice and we realised we had now had lunch, dinner, breakfast and lunch within the last 12 hours!!!

When we got off the plane we walked for miles and went to collect our luggage. Two holdalls came very quickly, we waited and waited and waited for the third holdall. We would have waited longer if the baggage man hadn’t said there isn’t anymore luggage. We went into the British Airways place to report the missing bag. Tricia was calm all things considered (must be jet lag). The lady gave us a catalogue and said what is the bag like. I thought this was a good idea rather than have you try and describe the bag. She took all the details and said it would probably come up on the next flight which was due to land at 1pm. She said the bag would be sent to the house. Arrived home at 12.15pm and it was warm and sunny. Not Florida warm but very warm for Scotland. The bag arrived home 25 minutes past midnight. It couldn’t tell me where it had been.

Thanks so much for sharing your trip with us. I thouroughly enjoyed reading about it and am jealous at how long you were there. How nice it would be to have a long, relaxed trip like that. Thanks again!

Sounds like a great trip was had - the flight home always to me feels like it takes forever - thanks for posting!

I just loved your trip report! I'm also jealous of your long stay at WDW. Every report I read, I just wanted to be there with you.:(

The pictures were a nice touch. Thanks for posting.

Loved your trip reports, thank you! So glad you bought the trolley and I glad that there is somebdoy else that picks us much as Mum and I.
One thing, don't they allow you to book your luggage all the way through? I know you were on Virgin and BA but I have been on different airlines and they have always allowed the luggage to be checked all the way through.
