Day 10. Sunday
Animal Kingdom – for real this time.

Up at 07 00am this morning and it already looks like it’s going to be a hot one today – turned put to be 103 o, according to the temp gauge in the truck.

I like Animal Kingdom, the snows are good, the overall lay out is clever and the real animals make it a bit special. May be that's why I like Bush Gardens so much, it has much of what Animal Kingdom has – plus lots of great rides and the best children’s theme park area anywhere in Florida. But that’s for another day.

The ‘Girlie’ white stocking is NOT coming with us today, next person that say’s “one of your stockings has slipped love” is going to get a punch on the nose, so I’ve parted company with this piece of medical equipment and it used to catch the hairs on your leg and pull them as you walked.

We have a small leak in the kitchen sink this morning, so call the number for the villa operators and report it – villa, I have to say is just the best, so much more room and freedom than a hotel.

We eat some pastries and cereal at the house this morning, I thing the BIG breakfast was too much for us this morning. So we make it to the park early today and head for the Safari by truck (as the animals are supposed to be out and about more in the mornings). We do see a little more that we’d seen last year (which was a mid day tour) but not massive numbers. I love taking photo’s but every time I saw an animal (that was posing) we were either moving along on the bumpy track and I couldn’t get a still shot or when we did stop the animals where over on the other side of the truck and there were two many heads in the way. I did get one shot, you can just see a antelope next to a tree on a hill – I know it looks like a brown spot in the distance but I can assure you it’s a very rear antelope!

Because we just snacked at breakfast time we started to feel hungry and went to Dino’s for some ‘ Turkey wraps’ and a drink. After our snack we went to the ‘Tarzan’ show, again last year this wasn’t on so it was new to us. Now I know we saw it (because it’s in my notebook) but dammed if I can remember any of it. It was either so unmemorable or I’m getting so old I’m loosing my memory – “thank you DW, we can do without you input”

There seemed to be much more Disney characters around the park this year, and we got some lovely Kodak moments in the meet and greet area.

It’s a lovely park to just wonder round watching the animals with all the well-planted walkways and animal areas it’s good to be able to take a park at a slower pace for a change.

Anyway, back home we find kitchen sink fix and one other small item also sorted during our day out – impressed!

Kids scout off to the pool while girls do ‘girlie’ work – DW has washed my wallet (was in my shorts), now I know it’s my job to empty my pockets when I put anything in the wash – but I hadn’t put my shorts in the wash. I’d left right there on the floor so I could find them easy for the next time, so it must have been DW fault – told you so!

Oh, just to make things interesting the receipt for the photographs was also in my wallet?

We need to go to Wal-Mart tonight to get some bits and pieces for Ben’s birthday, wrapping paper, put some more films in, etc – oh, and get some beer, we’re out and DF has had to open his Pernod – best of luck to him (tastes like liquorice sweets – yuk).

Your should have seem the look on the girls face at the photo section of Wal-Mart when I gave her the ticket, it was even worse when I explained that it was DW fault – don’t know where she’d gone, but she wasn’t there to back-up my story anyway. I managed to get the photos by name and date, so no lose there.

Back at the villa we book a meal for two (DW and myself – think it was for an anniversary or something – DW will know) at the ‘ Sleuth’s Mystery Dinner’ for the next evening.

All went out to ‘Ruby Tuesdays’ for a meal that night, which was very good, one of the better one’s.

Tomorrow – Typhoon lagoon.
