Hi fellow Wisher's ! As some of you may know I started "wishing" about 6 weeks ago...July 6 to be exact! So far I have lost 10 lbs...which by the way was in the first couple of weeks. I spent a few weeks "slipping away" and re-gained composure again this past Tuesday .
Up until now I have been reading through some of your journals. Very Aw-inspiring ! Great Job everyone! But until now I have been super afraid to start a journal of my own.....Going out on a limb now and gonna give it a shot! I feel I need to be held "accountable" mostly to myself and also to anyone who may be reading. It must give some of you great joy/pride to be able to look back and re-read day1, day10, day50 etc and see how far you have come! At this point I do journal in a book but am going to try this also!
So Here Goes.....My name is Dawn...I am 35 years old and have to sons ages 3 and 8. I have been happily married for almost 14 years. My husband and I run a small restaurant that has been in my family for 23 years.....This my friends is a whole other story ! They hours are long....and the food is plentiful! I enjoy spending the time I have with my family and of coarse WALT DISNEY WORLD! We are DVC members as of last year and can't wait to go again!
I basically am trying to follow the rules and regulations of South Beach. If I don't do everything exact , I am not going to be too concerned....after all If on any given day...I eat healthy and manage to excercise...I am doing better!
I also will add as part of my "introduction" ...I've had food issues all my life....not in the form of being overweight necessarily...but in the form of being a ballet dancer in my teen/early20's. I was made to stand on a scale twice weekly since the age of 12??I don't know ...around 7th grade I guess. I can remember at one of my first weigh in's ...I was 92 and told I must get down to 85 by the following week! I know there are many issues in the dance community and those that are familiar can relate....Lets just say ....I was never destined to turn out to be a ballerina as I am only 5ft3 and shaped "like a woman"! Years of this, however resulted In a very negative self image and eating disorders. I am okay now and basically trying to loose some weight and get healthy!!! I already dropped 10 lbs and probably would be good with 30 more gone. It might not sound like a lot to some of you who lost so much....I almost feel embarrased. But I have lost and gained the same 40 pounds over and over...with dieting and then binging...slipping etc. I just need to do it the "healthy" way this time and learn that it is a LIFESTYLE! That Is why I thing the SB is such a great HEALTY way of eating!
Enough of that now. About the "journal". I have had two great days so far and today is not quite as "perfect". But I am gonna post what I actually ate so I can be accountable! See...normally don't work on thurs but certain circumstances at the restaurant had me there at 5 am today...
Brek: 1/2 pumpkin muffin ( I know, I know )
Lunch: Egg white omlet w/little ham and cheese
Snach: Proten Bar
Dinner: 6 oz NY strip steak on top of salad with extra veggies
blue cheese dressing.
I don't know what snack will be for tonite but I think I will do the right thing since I just poured My heart out to everyone!
Sorry so Long and Thanks for listening!!!
Until next time
