Davy Crockett 50th anniversary

As the end of 2006 approaches, here's a 50th anniversary salute to Davy Crockett and the River Pirates, the edited theatrical release of the two Disney TV prequels "Davy Crockett's Keelboat Race" and "Davy Crockett and the River Pirates." Released in theaters in 1956, Fess Parker's "Davy Crockett" joined forces with Jeff York's "Mike Fink" to battle those river pirates. Nineteen fifty-six also marked the release of Topps' two 80-card Davy Crockett sets, prime-time collectibles in the 21st century!

Ah, to see those Mike Fink Keelboats sailing again at the Magic Kingdom!

OMG- I might have to buy this for my dad! I did just buy the 2 movie DVD of Davy Crockett from the Disney Movie Club. It has Davy Crockett - King of the Wild Frontier, and Davy Crockett and The River Pirates!

Does anyone have a copy of the story script that cast members recited as they steered the Mike Fink Keelboats? The story was a wonderful tale of Davy Crockett and Mike Fink battling the river pirates!
