Hi everyone,
I just recently made a request for the Polynesian through David’s vacation rentals for XXX (details removed). We have not heard yet if we will be getting the room because we must wait for the 11month mark.
I was just wondering, has anyone booked through David’s for XXXX (details removed) at the Polynesian before? Did you get the room no problem? Just wondering if we have a good chance of getting the room and looking to hear from anyone with this experience with David’s

I had to remove dates from your post. In general, Polynesian is not hard to get at the 11 month window so as long as David's has an actual owner with Poly points, you should be able to get it.

Good luck!

As long as David's has an owner with Poly points for rent, you won't have a problem getting the room. I do not recall any reports of not getting a reservation for PVB at 11 months.

In general, late September to the beginning of January are the hardest months to book at a DVC resort.

With DVC members still trying to use excess points they were unable to use due to COVID travel restrictions, these months might remain particularly difficult to book for a few years.

Other months are not too difficult to book at the Poly. Compared to other DVC resorts, it has a disproportionately large number of Studios, making it easier to book than most (but not all) other DVC resorts.

In June we put in an 11 month request for a standard studio for 4 nights in late April/early May 2022 - so not a particularly large amount of points. We were waitlisted as they did not have any owners with points available, and 2 other brokers I reached out to also had long waits for the Poly. While the room availability was (and is still) not a problem for those dates, it does seem that David's has (or at least had) a pretty large wait list. I am not sure how things are now as we ultimately ended up going with a different broker to book, but the live chat on their website would probably be able to tell you if they currently have a waitlist.

Okay good to know thank you. We put in our request for second week of September 2022 (2 days ago) and I know it won’t be able to get processed until October but we were told by David’s live chat that we can put it in 12months +10 days in advance. I’m hoping this puts us at the top of the waitlist if there is one…. I just hate waiting to see if we get the requested resort (Polynesian) it’s making me anxious haha! I have never stayed at Polynesian but it has always been a dream of mine and this was the only way to do it because it is so much more affordable. Crossing my fingers we get it!

When I listed my Poly with Davids, they reached out immediately to rent the points out. That tells me they had a wait list point in time. But they have a large pool as well. From posts on here it seems there can be a bit of a wait for Poly at times.

If you haven't done so as well, check the rental section of the boards. The prices are cheaper than Davids and there's a good amount of us poly owners who rent our points out here.

I’m hoping this puts us at the top of the waitlist if there is one

They will say there is a list, but it really is not linear. When a Poly owner shows up, David's will send them multiple requests to choose from. An owner may choose based on the expiration of their points, the points required, or even just randomly. It's certainly not "agency sends the item on top of the list and owner accepts."

I've rented my Poly points 3 times already. There has always been plenty of availability at the 11 month mark, in my experience.

As others have stated ,Poly is not hard to book at 11 months. The hard part is David's having Poly points available to rent as Poly is one of their most demanded resorts according to what they told me.I rented some of my Poly points this spring and they were gone in 6 hours.

Agree, you should be fine getting a room at the POLY in Sept. We have stayed there in Sept a number of times and never had a problem - even less than 11 months out. There are a good number of rooms available. We just booked for this spring break (April) and all our days are were still available at just over 7 months out.
