David Bowie has heart sugery!

(7/09/04 - LONDON, ENGLAND) — David Bowie thought he had shoulder problems and ended up having heart surgery.

Bowie canceled his European tour because he had been having shoulder troubles for what was believed to be a pinched nerve. Bowie spokesman Julian Stockton says doctors examined him and found "an acutely blocked artery" in his heart.

They performed an emergency angioplasty to clear it. Stockton says Bowie is recovering well in New York. Bowie says in a statement he's angry because the tour has been fantastic and he can't wait to get back to work. He says, "I won't be writing a song about this one."

I was just talking to Towncrier online, and he told me . I'm glad they found the problem and that my man is okay.

And I'm glad I got to see the tour. There have been a few weird things happen to him on this one. A tragic accident with a stage hand, a fan hit DB's bad eye with a lollipop stick, and now this . I'm glad he's okay, but I am sad for the European fans.
