David’s DVC Rentals - 👍🏻 or 👎🏻 Added Questions on page 2 (6/22)

Ok friends……we are in the process of changing our next vacation.
We are currently booked at POFQ for a NYE trip, but once I saw what the airfare will be ($727 one way) we have decided to postpone until March. I thought about staying at CBR, but now I'm thinking about BLT through Dave’s DVC Rentals. For those that have used their service, please give me the good, the bad and the ugly.

We haven't completed our stay, but we have booked our September trip at the Boardwalk with them. So far, I can't say enough good things! Their customer service has been unbelievable! The live chat feature on their website is awesome; I've gotten answers to my questions, very prompt attention when I had a small issue come up, and they've all been incredibly friendly. We keep saying that if our stay ends up being good, I can't imagine staying any other way from now on! When you combine the incredible service with the ability to stay at our DREAM resorts for the price of a moderate, I can't imagine doing it any other way!

We have rented out thousands of points with them. Never had any issues. We have also rented confirmed reservations thru them. No issues. Totally safe to use them.

While I haven’t used the rental sites, I do want to mention that BLT is being refurbished from Sep 2024 - Sep 2025.

I have used them as an owner to rent out points and they were fantastic to deal with. Very quick responses if you have any questions.

We have used them several times - I think 8 times now. Anyhow...their chat feature - it's got a REAL, LIVE PERSON WHO ACTUALLY WORKS DIRECTLY AT DAVIDS!!! and their customer service has been stellar. Most recently this past January they helped me to book three studios at OKW for a family trip we took the kids on.
We have never had a bad experience using them. Yes, you need to be buyer aware and know what you are purchasing in terms of deposits/terms/paying up front and what that means, but we've always found them to be a above the board Company. In general you need to understand that once you pay that is it, you are locked in. Yes there is third party insurance you can buy - but I have no experience w/ that so I can't speak to that...you know the drill, the usual make -sure-what-insurance-you-buy (if you choose to do so) covers any cancellations you may anticipate blahblahblahblah. And it helps if you can pay w/ a credit card that has no foreign transaction fees, I think they are in Canada.
Again, customer service is top notch w/ them.

Another vote to go with David’s. A few years ago we had points that we needed to rent or they’d expire
And since I’m not good with computers and had a ton of questions but within 2 weeks I had all my questions answered and all the points rented to do different families
Couldn’t have been easier
As others have said their customer service is terrific.
They explained every step of the way in a way I could understand
No worries at all

We have rented from David's a few times and been very satisfied.

We also use another points broker who always has tons of confirmed reservations, and have been very satisfied with them too.

@slo check out the Rent/Trade board here on the Dis. We’ve rented points from two different owners there and had great results. I think the price per point might also be less than Dave’s.

Have had good experiences with David's, and did another site confirmed reservation once. No complaints. Davids was able to resell my reservation for Oct 2020 (covid when only the DVC places were open) and gave me a full credit good for 3 years.

I had had a May 2020 rental with a person on the dis, who was able to move it to Oct 2020 to follow after my one with David's, but I just couldn't go yet due to covid and lost all my money with that one.

I've rented out my points through David's and had a great experience. They've been around for a while and have a good reputation. The only big difference is the cancelation terms. You can get a credit with David's, but not a full refund if you cancel, and that credit decreases the closer to the trip you go.

I used them for a family trip last year. Dealing with them was easy and they were always happy to help. I would use them again without a doubt.
