Does anyone here have this book? And if so, could you give me a brief description of the areas and topics that it covers?

I'm thinking of getting this book from my Book Club as a gift for someone, but first I want to be sure that it will be helpful to them..

Thanks! :flower:

that book rocks, not acc sure as to what the difference is between the hard copy and the audio book i bought from itunes but i have thoughly enjoyed it and so have about 10 family members and friends i have gotten on board with me to a total money makeover......we're in step 2 , wish us luck!!!! :bounce: :bounce:

I'm also interested in reading his book. I'd never heard of him before I starting reading the Budget Board alot ..... I keep seeing his name!

I just started reading his book today - it seems to have a good theory - very hard core - if you are not ready to make major changes in your spending - this book is not for you!

That is a great book! He begins by addressing various debt myths and money myths, then goes into the step-by-step process of dealing with debt, building an emergency fund, investing, and building wealth. His writing style is very easy to read and very motivational. The book is also full of actual testimonials (with photos) of people who have put his plan into action and changed their lives.

I highly recommend it to anyone. ::yes::

Thank you! This is exactly the kind of brief description I was looking for.. Sounds like it would be an excellent book for the people I have in mind.. :flower:

I really hate to say this, but I'm reminded of the time I bought a Christmas Present for my daughters godparents who were always talking about their ways to eat lighter and healthier. I bought them a weight watcher cookbook that I had used and really enjoyed for all the great recipes it had (as well as assisting me in my goals of eating lighter). While they never said anything, I think they may have been offended. My lesson learned - never buy a self help book for anyone but yourself, your spouse, your children, or unless you have permission from the person to buy it. JMHO

How is this book different from his Financial Peace book?

Thanks

Have a Magical Disney Day!!

I just purchased this book off from ebay, but haven't had a chance to read it yet.

I had never heard of it until reading about it on this forum. Everyone here raves about it so I had to buy it.

I bought it on a Friday night and couldn't put it down. I was finished by Sunday and started working on a budget.

While we are in a pretty good financial position it did help me figure out our weak spots and helped me think of debt in a different way.

I loved the book although I found some of the testimonials a little far fetched.

I will follow the budget suggestions and will have our debt (including mortgage) paid off in 6.5 years. We could get there faster but hey I am just not willing to give up traveling (we camp a lot).

Sticking to a budget really isn't hard for us as we have always been careful of how we spend and we have a healthy retirement fund.

LOL.. That reminds me of my former brother-in-law.. His wife had been talking about dieting and exercising to lose some weight so that year for Christmas he went out and purchased her a membership to a gym.. Whoaaaa!! The poor guy was lucky to escape with his life.. :teeth:

I already have permission to purchase this book - or something like it - so I'm good to go.. :flower:
