Dave Ramsey book

I was on a thread somewhere and read about a Dave Ramsey book for being debt free. When I look him up on Amazon and such he has a few books out. My question is which is the best of his books? Which helped you the most and made a difference in your spending habits?

Total Money Makeover!!

If I had the money or my Library had a copy I'd go with the Financial Peace University set. I bought the homeschoolers version and my teens have been working through it. It came with DVDs to watch his seminar and a workbook to follow along....it's very good. I also got the younger set for my little ones, it comes with a change purse, goal chart and their own money envelopes to save for their goal and for donations...etc.
We also read Total Money Makeover and have 2 more of his DVDs.....he's very motivating.

Totally agree with pp. Some people just don't take to his style of advice and fp is a bit pricey.

His website also has a lot of the basics.

I actually got a lot of what I needed by listening to his radio show on my way home from work.

Total Money Makeover is a great place to start. If you go to his website you can check your area for classes. His financial peace university classes usually start around now. DH and I are taking them. We read his book a year ago and if you have cable check your local listings and try to catch his show from time to time.

I found the book this weekend and read it, now my DH is reading it. We're going to try to do it with just the Total Money Makeover book and website, I don't think we need the FPU. Are y'all having success with just these tools and not the full blown course?

Not sure, I registered over there over a year ago. Then when I went back to using it a few weeks ago I discovered that they had made my profile "inactive". I sent the admin an email and they had me up and running within an hour or two.
