How would one go about organizing an event at Disney that would raise funds for GKTW? I will be visiting the World 11/11 - 11/19. I know that the weekend I am there is the last weekend of F&W. I have never attended F&W, but I was wondering if there was a way for me to organize an Illuminations dessert party or a F&W event specifically to raise funds for GKTW.

Any tips you can give me would be greatly appreciated.

I'm actually trying to plan something for the first weekend of the food and wine festival. I have contacted GKTW , just waiting for a response on a contact person from Community Relations. I have also sent Dave a message and when he finally gets a chance to catch his breath, I'll check in with him about a contact. Whatever I find out, I would be happy to pass on.

Thanks! I wish I could go the first weekend, but it just won't work out with my work schedule.

I was also thinking that a Wishes Dessert Party would be nice as well.

Your best bet is to contact GKTW and WDW directly. There's a special department at both places for fundraising. Good luck!

I also would suggest considering volunteering at GKTW while you are at the World. I have done it a few times already and found it eye-opening. The village is very close to WDW and absolutely beautiful.

There are going to be quite a few DIS'ers there that weekend; between the opening of Food and Wine, the Magic Kingdom's 40th Anniversary, and the Wine & Dine Half Marathon. You should get a pretty good turn out if you can set something up!
