DATW for PCC 2.0-Friday, December 17th

 Is anyone bringing their children along for DATW?????? I know some did last year. But, I haven't seen anyone mention it for this year. Should we get a sitter????? (Ages 10, 8 and 5) :dance3:

(Katherine and John - Are you bringing the boys?)

:goodvibes Jennifer

Katherine, John and I were just discussing this on the phone this morning. She called Kids Night Out (KNO) to get prices. It's cheaper to do that, than it is to put them in the kids club.

We will have our 3 kids with a sitter or KNO or something. Wonder if we can get a group rate?

:thumbsup2 We use Kid's Nite Out at least once during our WDW trips. Bill and I like at least one evening childfree to experience the attractions together without having to worry about Child Swap or who sits with whom (We are a family of five. So, someone usually ends up riding alone on some attractions). Also, we like to have a nice dinner in one of the signature restaurants where the kids probably won't appreciate it just yet. Afterall, we're on vacation too! ;) Maybe, we'll turn the DATW into our kids-free evening. KNO is great because the kids are usually asleep when we get back. :cloud9: We've also used the Disney on-site kid's clubs. The closest to Epcot is the Sandcastle Club at The Beach Club (open 4:30 pm - midnight). :thumbsup2 Our kids DO like the Disney clubs because they get to play with other children and dinner is included in the price. Even with the DVC discount for the Disney on-site Kid's Clubs, KNO is cheaper for us too. :wizard:

Why is it called Kids Night Out? :confused3

Seems to me it should be called Parents Night out because the kids have to stay in the room (or on resort property) with the babysitter.

I have been practicing for DATW at the two Mexican restaurants in town.

Blueberry (yummy antioxidents!) margarita last night, sangria tonight.

Bring on the fruity drinks!

Your training regime is admirable. :drinking:

As it sits now, the boys will be with us up until the start of DATW, then Johnny will go somewhere(Swolphin club?) and Kenny may be allowed to roam around Epcot and keep in touch via cellphone (but this may change).

:thumbsup2 I booked Kid's Nite Out to watch our children while Bill, my Mom and I are at DATW. :woohoo:

 When does DATW START????????? I want to make sure I have the sitter coming early enough for us to get to Epcot to meet everyone. We'll be at the Animal Kingdom Villas - Kidani Village. Is anyone else staying there?????? We plan to take Disney transportation. I know it may take us awhile to get to Epcot. :rolleyes1

Does this count as a DATW pre-dinner???

"Caramel Kitchen to open late September . . . the official name is Karamelle-Küche, German for “caramel kitchen,” and the new shop in the Germany pavilion at Epcot is themed like an Old World German caramel shop. A show kitchen will feature cast members making fresh caramel popcorn, caramel apples, caramel-covered strawberries and marshmallows. Werther’s Original candy will be on the shelves, and the shop also will include gourmet caramels, cookies, brownies, fudge and cupcakes. It’s the only free-standing retail location in the world for Storck, makers of Werther’s Original Caramels, and you’ll find some goodies on the shelves that you can’t find anywhere else. The shop replaces the Glas und Porzellan shop."

:woohoo: fresh caramel popcorn ... we're there!!!!! :thumbsup2 Bill loves the stuff. popcorn::

Currently, Friday is not an EMH day :confused3 so it is tentatively 4pm I believe, 5:30 if there are EMH added.
As long as you give the sitter 48 hours notice, you should be good.
I would start off by saying 2:30 and revise at a later date.
Have you talked to Kat lately?

Thanks for the info! :wizard:

:thumbsup2 I got Katherine's voicemail message. I am really bad about leaving my cell phone in the car or at the bottom of my purse where I can't hear it ring. I PM'd her regarding the CP ADR. :wizard:

:confused3 Can someone please explain to me why December 17th is NOT an EEMH at Epcot???????? :confused3 It is a tease because the week before and after are EEMH. :headache: Is there any hope that WDW will change it to an EEMH??????? :rolleyes1

:thumbsup2 I think it is wise to start DATW in Canada. You may have lost some of us at the tequila bar. :rotfl: Bill and I don't drink that much at home. In the summertime, we are social drinkers out by our pool (with a Stella Artois or Midori Colada in hand). However while at Epcot, Bill and I always get a Bass Ale in the UK. It has become a tradition. So, I know that will be our first stop. ;) I've always wanted to try a Grey Goose slushie in France. I may try and talk my Mom into getting one so I can have a sip. Has anyone ever had the slushies in France? Any good? I always think of Samantha Brown when I see them. "C'est bon!" I am making a drink/eat around the world cheat sheet for myself. I'll need to "pace" myself if I want to make it to Mexico. :woohoo:

:rolleyes1 I have to forewarn y'all, I am a Stay-At-Home Mommy. So, my adult interaction is limited. When I get with other adults I can become quite the chatterbox and mix in a little alcohol ... (Bill can attest to this! :rotfl:)

Jennifer,
There is a whole group of us staying at Kidani & Jambo Pre and Post cruise.

:yay: This will be our first stay at our "home" resort. Until we are standing in our villa, I won't believe we are there and didn't switch to another resort. Which we've done the past two years. :rolleyes1

What time do you plan to head over to Epcot on Friday or will you already be there? Maybe, we can ride the bus together? :flower3:

:cloud9: We plan to relax that morning/day. I made a lunch ADR at Sanaa. We'll probably take advantage of the pool and water play area. Also, I'll be doing laundry to get caught up after being on the ship. :laundy: Since we will be so "rested", I was a little bummed about no EEMH. :confused3

Come on Jennifer, according to the calendar most of us are "adults" but we are ALL Disney fans. This one commonality makes us kids at heart and mind.
