Okay, I'm getting worried.

Is there something going on during this time frame? It seems that whenever a discount is offered, these dates are excluded.

Am I missing something? I thought this time frame would be perfect to go on vacation...before Christmas...after the Thanksgiving rush.

Anyone have a clue? Thanks.

Pop Warner is Nov 30 to Dec 8. They typically do not offer discounts during that time.

Does this mean the parks will be super crowded? I have no experience with Pop Warner week.

there are various websites that have crowd estimates & calendars. I use touringplans.com. They are estimating low crowds during the week (3/10 rating or lower) but moderate/higher crowds on both saturdays (6/10) and on Mon 12/5 (5/10). For more info visit the site, but keep in mind that full crowd calendar info requires a subscription. Other DIS members may have other websites they prefer.

Thanks for the info. I'm just wondering if I should change my plans to the following week, but I'm concerned that crowds will start to pick up by then. Do you think they will? Maybe I should just stick with what I have.

That week is actually not very busy, since most of the teams are competing. As they start narrowing down the brackets you'll see more of them in the park, but it's not TOO bad.

I am absolutely kicking myself because I cancelled a 35% off bounce back offer for the Polynesian for checking in December 8th and checking out December 16th. I cancelled the reservation back in January and booked OKW, but now I need a two night stay at the Poly for Dec. 8th through the 10th, but I don't think I'm going to be getting a discount now with the blackout dates .

Anyways, I think this is our last stay during early December. It's gotten too busy for my liking (still not as busy as Summer crowds) and I hate how early the parks close during the week. We stayed Dec. 2nd through the 15th last year. We've also stayed the second week of December and the week after Thanksgiving before. All three weeks seem to increase in popularity every year, but the second week of December is still my favorite time to go during the holiday season (but it can really pick up at the end of the week).

I have always found the second week, around the 7th to the 14th of December, to be the best time to go and experience the Christmas decorations and activities with the lowest crowds of that season. The free dining offer this year starts on December 10, so December 10 - 17 would be ideal.

We've been there during Pop Warner week and it doesn't impact the parks too much. The bigger impact will be at the resorts they're staying at and even then it will vary. Some people report no noticeable difference while others have said it gets noiser and the food courts can be more crowded.
