After months of agonizing I finally decided on late October for my next trip. Well I was just reading my Birnbaum's and saw that value season ends Oct. 2 and doesn't resume until Nov. 3!! Please someone tell me this isn't so!!! If it is indeed the truth how much difference is this going to make on room rates? According to what I read, my dates are among the ones with the least attendance, so why would it be considered regular season? I'm just sick! I've gotten my dd's so excited for Halloween in
WDW how in the world am I going to be able to tell them we might have to wait until early Dec.?

My suggestion is to go to www.ourlaughingplace.com and check out her calculator for the dates that you are going. It will very quickly give you a figure and you can examine the difference between value, regular, and peak seasons. I belive because of the Halloween time is what changes the status.

Thanks S.M. I checked it out and money wise it isn't that much more but I hope that since it's regular season I'm not mistaken in my thinking that the crowds will be light this time of year.

I'm not sure about the crowds. I can't get away during the school months, but maybe on one of the other boards you can find out what the crowds will be like. Maybe the themepark board. I hope you can plan a magical vacation. Happy Holidays!

Well....you can start by telling them that early December is one of the absolute most magical times to go....

Speaking from experience:bounce: :bounce:

Early December...(the first two to three weeks) is value season as well....

In my opinion....Christmas at WDW beats Halloween....hands down

We did Christmas at WDW 3 years ago and yes it was beautiful but we found the weather a bit of a drawback. It was way too cold to swim so one of the reasons I decided on Oct. was to take advantage of warmer temps. I'd like to be able to take advantage of some of the great pools and maybe even squeeze in a water park. And I think packing would be much easier. In December you have to take a little bit of everything and inevitably be stuck with too little or too much of the wrong type of clothing.

October use to be a less crowded time at WDW, but seems to have changed the past few years. We have been to the parks many times in October, the last trip Oct. 6-13, 1999, we had hot weather of 3 days in a row of 93 degrees and up which was great for using the water parks. But we noticed the crowds increasing every year. My nephew has worked at WDW for the past 3 years and he claims that January, September and after Thanksgiving up to about Dec.15, are about the slowest periods. October use to be value season at the Resorts, but I think crowds have changed that. It is still a great time to go!

That's why we decided to go the 2nd week in November instead of October. I just can't see spending more money for a difference of a couple weeks. We last went the week of Halloween and it was pretty crowded. I'm just hoping that November will still be warm enough to swim with my little boys. We would have chosen September except the fact I'd be pulling my 4-yo out of school after only 2 weeks and I didn't think that was wise.
