Dates for star wars weekends?

We are planning a may 2012 trip. I was planning for mothers day weekend but DS is a HUGE stara wars fan so we would like to take him to that. In the past has it always been the last two weeks of may and begining of june? I don't want to hit memorial day but was hoping the weekend before. When does wdw announce the dates for this type of thing? Thanks for the info

It hasn't always been those weekends, but it has for several years. They didn't announce the dates last year until early February I believe.

The schedule for SWW doesn't get announced until January at the very earliest. The past few years there have been no May weekends, only June. I liked it when it overlapped with Flower and Garden. That hasn't happened for at least a couple of years. A good friend ALWAYS goes to SWW. I used to go with her, but June is just TOO hot for me. And I am not nearly the SWW enthusiast as she is.

I think you have it backwards. The past several years it has been the last two weekends of May and the first two of June.

A number of years back it was June only, but I think only for a couple years.

hhmmm, January is too late for me to book things. I guess I can shoot for the second to last week in May, if they have it great, if not, well I will just tell him they cancelled it this year. There is still pleanty of SW things for him to do and see. Is the Jedi academy all year?

JTA runs all year.

I checked past dates. Since 2006 it has been four weekends, only only 2007 and 2008 were they all in June, with the rest as last two of May/first two of June.

Thanks for cheecking for me. I am trting to decide if it is worth it to wait to the end of the month, crowd wise or not, hhhmmm
