Dated Tickets and APs on Same Reservation in 2024

Does anyone know if we have APs but are staying at a resort with family members that will have dated tickets next year, will we still have to do park reservations? This really makes it impossible for planning since we were hoping to just be able to change parks if the weather isn’t cooperating at times. It really penalizes the family members with dated tickets if we need to have reservations.

No one can predict the future.... but I thought that dated tickets still need reservations.

Based on current requirements, AP holders who use the AP to enter the parks, will need a park reservation into 2024. Disney did state (and I keep waiting to hear) that there will be 'good to go' days for AP holders where a park reservation is not needed. But until those days, if any, are announced, you should be prepared to get a park reservation to match your family plans. Keep in mind, if you choose to enter parks after 2PM, you won't need at park reservation except for MK on weekends (you probably already know that!). And unless the parks are really full, it's not unusual that you could change your park reservation day-of to match up better, if the weather changes things.

I'm really hoping these 'good to go' days are more the rule than the exception - but I really am not optimistic!

I had a back-and-forth correspondence with WDW Guest Services about this, pointing out that an AP holder with a WDW resort reservation should have the same no-park-reservation-needed policy as a date-based ticket holder. After all, they know exactly when I'm going to be there.

But, so far, nothing has changed. My sister and I, both out-of-state AP holders, already made park reservations for our March 2024 trip.

Yes, the APs will still need park reservations.

But switching parks is not a big deal at all, even the day of. So book what you think you'll want to do, and if the weather or anything else makes you want to switch to a different park, just modify.

Yes, they made switching park reservations easy on the app. I was able to do this last month.
