If you had one dinner alone on your vacation with you signifagant other while your child(ren) were being cared for my their Grandmother (who's joining you on the trip) where would you eat dinner? Anywhere is fine, a park, as long as it's on property. This is not our first time at WDW so these resturaunts are out. Jiko, California Grill, Spoodles, San Angel, LeCellier.

Where would you go?Why?

Thanks

We had the exact situation last summer on our anniversary. After much agonizing, I finally decided on Yachtsman Steakhouse mostly because the menu appealed to us and we wanted to be in the Epcot area.
Until the last minute I worried if I made the right choice(so many places looked so good). After dinner I was so glad we went there. We had an amazing meal.
We will be back again alone on our anniversary this year. Since its our 10th I was thinking of doing something special like CA Grill for fireworks, however every time I think of how good YSH was I have a hard time not going back there. ;)
Enjoy whatever you choose. :D

My DH & I ate at Artist Point in the Wilderness Lodge last Oct and we loved it!!! Very nice atmosphere! Food and service were excellent - the berry cobbler dessert was so good!!! My steak was excellent, and DH loved the salmon! And we enjoyed walking around the Wilderness Lodge after dinner (my DD stayed at the Cubs Den while we had dinner!)

We didn't make it back to Artist Point this summer, but we'll definitely be back in a few weeks!!

Enjoy!!!

What I would do is get tickets for the later Cirque show and have dinner at Wolfgang Puck's Cafe prior to the show. In our eyes, this is the ultimate date in WDW!

I go for Chefs de France or Bistro de Paris. Both are very romantic. If you'd rather be out of the parks Blue Zoo at the Dolphin is outsatanding.

Jiko or Le Chef. And dont miss the dueling pianos at Jellyrolls on the boardwalk! Tons of fun! ::yes::

A bit off-topic, but is Jellyrolls smoking or non-smoking?

We've done this a few times. I like Bistro de Paris, because then I get to wander around Epcot (my favorite park) without the kids before and after the meal.

Yachtsman Steakhouse is also nice in that regard, because you can head over to the Boardwalk afterwards.

Finally, Citrico's is a wonderful restaurant. Have been there several times with kids, but it would be great without as well.

(Jiko would also be one of my top choices, but the OP indicated that was out).

Jellyrolls does allow smoking. I had heard some bad stories about the smoke there, but when we went in July there was barely anyone smoking at all. Only a couple times I could smell some and I never actually saw anyone smoking. From what I hear though, this is not the norm and we must have just gotten lucky.

Thanks everyone! :) The OP is my DH. :teeth:

Our trip is not until NEXT December but we've been thinking about this since before we even asked my mom if she would come with us! LOL!

We did Yachtsman already, so that one is out, too. DH forgot about that one, I guess. We've already done Cirque, too, and not that long ago so we won't be doing that again this trip.

Can't wait to hear more suggestions!

I would recommend dinner at Artist Point at WL, followed by a stroll on property. Go down to the beach and watch Wishes & the EWP.

If you're going in December, I can tell you what I have planned for DH & myself. I have booked a carriage ride at Fort Wilderness. I saw a photo of the carriage, and it is decorated with bows and garland, for the holiday. I have already called and was told that I was welcome to bring champagne & chocolates, etc., for the ride. I booked the 9:30 pm ride, which is the last one, hoping to see the holiday lights at each site, then watch Wishes from the carriage. I'm looking forward to surprising my DH with this, as I think it will be very romantic. Happy planning! :)

we are going over to the WL (we are staying at SSR) and eating at Artist Point and then going on a carriage ride at FW...tres romantique...

Jellyrolls is pretty smokey--in fact last time we were there the musicians were really complaining about it.
