Dashing into December 2025 Exercise Challenge

It's now scarily only 2 weeks until Christmas! And we've had some great colour changes over the past few days. Alicatt has hit blue and Raya, ElizabethSmith, myself (Clappyclaps) and the Team have now reached orange!




I've learnt something new today, that not only was there 2 film sequels to The Santa Clause, there has also been a tv show released on Disney+ which ran for 2 seasons in 2022 and 2023. Here's a trailer if, like me, you didn't know it existed!

For Thursday, the weather was decent enough for us to spend a bit of time outside. I picked up some pecans until my dog slipped out of a gap in the fence and I had to chase him down the street with Charles trying to follow after me. That was stressful! I'll count 20 minutes of exercise for the whole ordeal. Thankfully, my dog is not too much of a runner.

We went to the mall tonight to try and finish some holiday shopping, but we ended up on Amazon by the end of the night anyway. A lot of walking around the mall and not a lot of shopping (and no buying). I'll count 30 minutes.

Morning all,

We're now almost half way through December (and only 11 days until Christmas), and we're doing great! Congrats to Alicatt and ShannyMcB for turning orange and to sophy1996 for storming ahead to purple!



Our next film is one I'm loosely calling a Disney film based on Disney acquiring the rights to 20th Century Fox, and it is of course Home Alone:



Disney acquired the rights to 20th Century Fox in 2019, and while they then went on to make their own instalment in the film series (Home Sweet Home Alone), I'm sure most of you will agree with me when I say the originals are the best. For me this is a christmas classic and mandatory viewing every year.

You couldn't imagine anyone else other than Joe Pesci as Marv, one half of the Wet Bandits, but both Robert De Niro and Jon Lovitz were offered the role first. And did you know that the photo of Buzz's girlfriend is actually a picture of the son of the film's art director.

Another fun fact, the scene in which the tarantula is placed on Marv's face, the scream you hear wasn't filmed at the time. As they used a real tarantula, actor Daniel Stern mimed the scream so not to spook the tarantula, and the recorded scream was added in afterwards.

While Home Alone is an iconic film to most of us, it doesn't have the same name across the globe. In Argentina it's called Oh, the Poor Angel, in Italy it's called Mom, I Lost the Plane and in Poland it's called Kevin Alone in the House. Doesn't quite have the same ring to it does it?

43 minutes of running and 50 minutes of lifting for this weekend. Got into a shouting match at the gym. Person came in turned the TV on a controversial station, and then turned it up very loud. When I asked politely to turn it down or switch to closed captions things got ugly. I'm trying not to let it get to me, but I hate how aggressive and uncivilized the world is lately.

I feel this way nearly every time I go out in public lately. And it's the main reason why I've stopped going to the cinema and theatre.

I did not see that, bet they'll be astounded when they realise!

In other news, I recently purchased this awesome jumper from the Disney Store and wore it for the first time today to a Branch away day, where thankfully it didn't go unappreciated!

@piglet1979 , I am free! I had to appear at the federal courthouse yesterday for duty, but I was not selected to serve. I was there about 5 hours, and it was pretty interesting getting to see the selection process. Every single staff member from security to admins, lawyers, and judge were incredibly kind and pleasant. Best of all, now I no longer have to call in. Showing up and going through the selection process concluded my jury service. Hope you have a good experience, too!

That is great. I had to postpone mine. I was supposed to have it this week but my dad had bypass surgery yesterday in a different state. It was so easy to postpone. I had 90 days from the beginning of January to March 16th and I got to choose when I wanted to do it. I picked March 16th since most of the winter bad weather should be gone by then. After getting off the phone I realized that that is a horrible time since it is smack dab in the middle of our busy time at work with reading a ton of applications for scholarships. I will make it work though. I just might have to read the applications in the afternoon to keep caught up.

I have no clue what any of my time is. I am getting a ton of steps but not walking enough at 1 time for my Fitbit to track it. I might need to step out for this month and start back up in January. This unexpected trip to Kentucky has thrown a lot off this month.
