Thanks for posting! I'll have to check out the info for H&V. I'm wondering if the kids would do better with face characters (Cinderella and the princesses) so maybe Cinderella's Royal Table would be a better idea? Hmm, lots to think about.

I'm editing three different batches of pictures right now, so once I'm done with those, I can concentrate more on the trip plannning.

How many buffets would you be willing to do? I'd say definitely do Chef Mickeys, since you said Brayden's favorite character is Mickey. Tusker House's buffet is supposed to be really good for breakfast (the only meal they have character)- Donald, Daisy, Mickey and Goofy are there.

Ok, so we're going with Darren's best friend, Chris, and Darren's parents. Only, Darren's dad doesn't know it yet! :rotfl: Darren's mom put the room on her credit card and we're just going to break the news to him later lol. So stay tuned to find out what his reaction is going to be! Hopefully he won't be too upset :rolleyes1

ANYWAY, I need help! I want to make some dining reservations this time (can you believe we've never went to a sit down restaurant in Disney before? Aside from RFC and T-Rex!) so I need some recommendations. Nothing to fancy (aka, expensive) and definitely kid friendly. I also want to see about booking a character meal, I'm thinking Crystal Palace! So let me know what you all think!

Does anyone know when the dates for Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party are coming out?

DH and I do not have children...yet, but we love Crystal Palace and Ohana breakfasts, it's a fun atmosphere, with good food and great character interaction, and they are both pretty inexpensive.

Good point. I actually wasn't even thinking of Chef Mickey's until last night. Brayden's favorite characters are the Toy Story gang and of course, Mickey. I'll have to look into it. If CP is a lot cheaper, we might just do that.
WCC looks SO fun!! I'm going to check out the menu and prices and see if everyone would be able to swing it.

Hey, I hear you about going with the kids ASAP!! Brayden was 10 months on his first trip and Brynn will be just over one year old when we go! You can never start em too young I say! :thumbsup2

Father in law still doesn't know. I have no idea when MIL is planning on letting him in on it! Maybe the day we leave?

:thumbsup2:thumbsup2:thumbsup2
DH likes to tease me that Lucas will have been to Disney three times before he turns 3. :) I see no problem with that!!

Lucas went at 5 months, 18 months (1st haircut trip), and he'll go again the week before he turns 3 (spending his birthday on DCL).

I might fly down with Owen for his first haircut when it gets too long or he'll just have it when we go in June of 2012, before the cruise. Not sure yet.

Anyway! Lucas HATED Ohana dinner. The fire and the singing and the coconut races freaked him out. Just thought I'd throw that out there. He's normally great (and Ohana was the only restaurant we had issues at and we ate several TS meals) but Ohana was too much for him.

Yeah, we're going with the dining plan. We are going as a group of 11 adults and 2 babies, our daughter (almost 1) and our nephew (almost 6 months). The dining plan was really the only way we could do this trip and keep everyone's sanity..... It should be 'interesting'.

I like buffets so doing more than one wouldn't bother me at all. I heard that Tusker House is really good too. Maybe we'll schedule more than one and if they do ok with the characters then we'll go to the others, but if not, we could cancel the ADR.

Thanks! :thumbsup2 We love good food and atmosphere!!!

You just reminded me! We wanted to get Brayden's first haircut in Disney, but it was getting too long so we had to go ahead and cut it. I'm wondering if Brynn's would be long enough to cut in September. Probably not! :lmao: little baldy

Brayden has already been on 4 vacations and he just made two. People think it's crazy to take such young kids because they won't remember, but they have fun at the time and that's all that matters! Plus, we don't want to miss out and be scared to take our kids on vacations, we want them to be used to staying away from home sometimes. I know I wish my family would have done more vacations when I was younger, but we never did.

Thanks for the heads up about Ohana. Brayden likes to be entertained, and then some things scare him. You just never know what will set him off!

That's a lot of people! We can't get anyone to commit to going with us, much less that many people lol. I bet you will have lots of fun!!

Heather that's a good point in getting the kids used to staying away from home. (and of course, getting them used to staying at DISNEY is the most important part. They have to ALWAYS love WDW...or else! :rotfl:)

wow! so how long are you there for? It looks like you might have at least 2 sit-down meals every day? I hope y'all have time for rides! ;) :rotfl: But you sure have some great meals in there.

Oh, they'll love Disney. Don't you worry about that  hahaha it's been a part of their lives from the very beginning!

We'll be there for 9 days and yeah, it's pretty much two sit-down meals a day. We have a DVC membership and are treating our immediate family to the hotel portion of the trip and they are paying for the food, so I made sure we'd all get lots and lots of it!:rotfl:

That sounds like an awesome deal to me!! :thumbsup2

I just booked Chef Mickey's for 9/29 at 9:40am!!! :banana::banana:

I'm in the middle of choosing my ADRs but I had to post about it cause I'm so excited haha.

Oh, and our rough itinerary (and I do mean rough, Darren and I just came up with it in about 10 minutes!) issssss...
(ADRs will be added after I make them all)

9/24 - arrive at All Star Music early in the morning, head to Magic Kingdom, Epcot that night
9/25 - Animal Kingdom, Magic Kingdom Extra Magic Hours
9/26 - DTD, Hollywood Studios Extra Magic Hours
9/27 - Epcot, Magic Kingdom
9/28 - Animal Kingdom, Epcot Extra Magic Hours
9/29 - Magic Kindom, Hollywood Studios
9/30 - Just wing it, but our last park is always Magic Kingdom!!
10/01 - go home :(

Now, we've never followed an itinerary (other than planning to hit every evening EMH) and with two kids it might be kind of tricky, but I'm hoping we'll make all of our ADRs! I guess you'll just have to stick around to find out ;)

fell behind but caught up. plans looks good. we miss you by 2 weeks.

Just made a Crystal Palace ADR too! I couldn't resist.

I can't get in for Ohana at all. BOO! :sad2:

Sounds like a great plan :) I hope the EMH's works out with both kiddos. I'm really looking fwd to seeing how this trip goes for y'all 'cause Alex will only be a few weeks younger than Brynn is gonna be for this trip when we go in December.

It's definitely a different trip when kids are involved, but you just do different things. I'm sure we'll do more resting and stopping at play areas but it'll still be fun!

Well, Darren's dad found out. Waaaay earlier than planned, too!

Chris, Darren's friend who is going with us, is friends with Darren's cousin. He told her we were going to Disney and she told her aunt. Darren's parents went to eat this weekend with that aunt and she was like, "So y'all are going to Disney in September, huh?" And Darren's dad said "NO, we're not going!" And Darren's mom said she just turned her head away :rolleyes1 and said "Yeah, we are." :rotfl:

He said, "What? You better not have put that on the credit card!" and she was like "I did. We have to go, Brayden gave me a fishy kiss!"

So he is cool with it now. No more having to hide it!!

I'll post my ADRs soon!
