Dasani in Disney. Let's do it again! Link to trip report posted!

It's definitely a different trip when kids are involved, but you just do different things. I'm sure we'll do more resting and stopping at play areas but it'll still be fun!

More breaks and play areas are fine with me when we go LOL. I'm getting too old to go go go anymore anyways. Hell, I'll be 30 by our next trip :scared1:

Well, Darren's dad found out. Waaaay earlier than planned, too!

Chris, Darren's friend who is going with us, is friends with Darren's cousin. He told her we were going to Disney and she told her aunt. Darren's parents went to eat this weekend with that aunt and she was like, "So y'all are going to Disney in September, huh?" And Darren's dad said "NO, we're not going!" And Darren's mom said she just turned her head away :rolleyes1 and said "Yeah, we are." :rotfl:

He said, "What? You better not have put that on the credit card!" and she was like "I did. We have to go, Brayden gave me a fishy kiss!"

So he is cool with it now. No more having to hide it!!

I'll post my ADRs soon!

glad he's okay with it and you don't have to hide things anymore :)

30 isn't old!!! haha it seemed to be when I was really young, but now that I'm on my way, 30 is like a spring chicken :thumbsup2

Yep, you did! Over chips and salsa lol.
I know, if someone booked a trip and said I was going on it, I'd be like, heck yeah! :yay:

I really sorry for the lack of updates this week. My dad just got diagnosed with diabetes. We never knew he had it, but he was drinking a ton and having to pee a lot, so my mom asked me to check his blood sugar with my monitor (I had gestational diabetes with Brayden). So we checked it and it was over 600 (normal is 130-150 usually) so my mom brought him to the ER. They had to give him 4 shots of insulin before it came down enough.

It was really scary and it's still out of control. His fasting blood sugar is in the 400's, which is insane. So we've been trying to find things for him to eat. I feel so bad because he LOVES his sweets and bread.

Anyway, ADRs coming up!!

ADRs as of right now (and I say that because Darren isn't happy with some of the choices)

crystal palace 9/24 2:00pm (we're arriving that morning so I'm sure we'll be able to make it to this reservation)

ohana 9/25 8:10pm (Darren doesn't want to take up our MK EMH time with such a late reservation. I'm searching for something earlier now)

sci fi 9/26 4:10pm

chef mickeys 9/29 9:40am

whispering canyon cafe 9/30 7:40pm (Darren doesn't want to eat here on our last night. He's weird and doesn't like planning anything for the last day of vacation. Working on getting a different day.)

Oh my gosh I hope your dad gets better soon!

Love all your ADRs! I hope you get the dates & times you want for Ohana & WCC; luckily there's still lots of time :thumbsup2

so sorry about your dad. I know it will take a big adjustment, but I hope he can find a good way to live with the diabetes and still enjoy some of the food he loves!

I feel the same way about the EMH's. Just keep checking, being persistent pays off. I've even gotten into Le Cellier by being persistent. So you can definitely get Ohana. I have faith!

I really hope you get WCC because that was a really fun meal.

:lmao:well you still have a little ways to go before you're 30 my dear :goodvibes I'm glad someone thinks I'm still a spring chicken though. I've realized how out of shape I am lately though so I'm starting a exercise regimen today and cutting out soda and bad foods n such. I want to be in good shape for December so I can keep up with Alex and not be in pain by the end of each day. Plus I'd like to look good in my pics with him :goodvibes I wish my neighborhood was safer...I'd go running.

Yikes!! That is SUPER scary!!! I'm really glad y'all found out his problem before something bad happened. Chris' dad has an insulin pump 'cause his is that bad too. Diabetes is not something to mess around with.

Great ADR's! I love SciFi. Have you taken Bray there? Does he like it? I'm thinking Alex might like it. I can't wait until he starts showing interest in things and forming opinions so I can make sure we do things he is for sure going to enjoy on our trip. I've also never gone to Chef Mickey's. Did you take Bray there when he was younger? I'm thinking it might be too much for a 1 year old but wth do I know?

Thanks Carla. We've actually NEVER been to a table service restaurant, aside from RFC and T-Rex! Brayden likes to be entertained when he eats so I'm thinking he'll like our choices. I just hope he and Brynn aren't scared of the characters!!

Hi Heather!

Just wanted to let you know I'm following along!

:cool1:

:wave2: THANK YOU!!!!

So I have made a few changes, but I need y'all's opinion on my Ohana ADR.

here's the old ADRs:

crystal palace 9/24 2:00pm

ohana 9/25 8:10pm

sci fi 9/26 4:10pm

chef mickeys 9/29 9:40am

whispering canyon cafe 9/30 7:40pm

New ADRs

Crystal Palace 9/24 2:00pm
Ohana 9/25 10:50am
Sci-Fi 9/26 4:10pm
WCC 9/27 7:40pm
Chef Mickey's 9/29 9:40am

So my question is, Ohana's breakfast is over at 11am. We are considered breakfast right now, but we want lunch. I'm sure we won't even be seated until after 11 with our ADR being 10:50am. So do you think I should just keep it and hope they sit us for lunch and not breakfast? Anyone have any experience with this situation? Also, do they do the skewers for lunch or is just dinner?

I don't really know the answer to your question, but going by the menus on allears.net it looks like Ohana only has breakfast or dinner, and no lunch. Breakfast is 7:30-11a, and dinner starts at 5pm. So if there is no lunch, it looks like no matter what time they seat you, you are having breakfast.

Wow, never!? I'm shocked!!! :scared1: Can't wait to hear what y'all think of all the sit down meals and how the kiddos do!

Wish I could help but I dunno. Maybe call and talk to a disney cast member about it?

Ohanas only does breakfast and dinner http://disneyworld.disney.go.com/dining/ohanas/

I'd cancel and keep trying for dinner.

I'm following along with your plans! I'm desperately trying to convince DH we need a trip with our daughter in February. She would be 16 months. I wish we were close enough to drive. It would help my case tremendously!

Nope, never. We are always 'go go go' and never have time to wait for a table.

Thank you. I'm going to keep trying! I hope people actually cancel their ADRs if they aren't going to make it.

Thanks for following along! You definitely need to go in Feb! Is your DH a Disney nut? Try playing park music or watching the planning DVD. Try to get your DD to say Disney World! He won't be able to resist!! :cutie:

How is your dad?

yes, how's he doing?

He went to the doctor and he's on his meds 3 times a day now. His bs is staying in the 300's, which is still really high, but they said it would take awhile to regulate. Come to find out, when he had labs done in 2009, his fasting blood sugar was 113, which is high for fasting. Why didn't the doctor tell him then?! He could have had it under control by now.

Thanks for asking how he's doing.

Sorry to hear about your Dad. :( What a huge adjustment to have to make.

Anyway....
I'm happy to have found your PTR! :) Too bad you aren't going in January or February since that's when we'll probably be going. ;)

We've only done two sit-down restaurants and they were both on our last trip. We liked one. Pretty much hated the other.
