I am an annual pass holder, and I was told that the DAS pass is good for 60 days beginning the first day of park entrance. I was also told that the 60 days starts the day you register for it. Can anyone confirm which is actually true?

You can ask what the expiration date is when you register for DAS.
That would give the best answer of it’s important to you. I know proper have reported being told both.
Sometimes we’ve been told the date, sometimes not. We have APs, but are out of state and usually come 2-3 times per year, more than 60 days apart.
It's 60 days from issuance. If you do it in advance of your park visit it expires 60 days from then. If you do it in park it expires 60 days from that day.
Have you already used this AP though? If not, and your first day of use will occur on the date you set up the DAS to begin, it will be 60 days from that day, I *think.*
You can have the CMs in park scan your barcode and tell you what day it will expire.
