It varies and even those attractions that normally would do the Magicbands sometimes use hand written or pre-printed return time cards for various reasons.
It could be because that attraction's iPad/iPod used to put
DAS times onto Magicbands is not working, is not available or the wi-if in that area is slow or not working.
In general, attractions that are:
-
rides will give a
Return Time on the Magicband or park pass card.
This includes rides where the line is wheelchair accessible until close to boarding. Examples are Buzz Lightyear, Splash Mountain, Kali River Rapids, Toy Story Midway Mania.
-
rides that have a different entrance for guests using wheelchairs will use a
return time card for guests using wheelchairs or strollers as wheelchairs. (That is because they need a process for those guests
not using DAS along with their mobility device. Examples of those rides are Jungle Cruise and Big Thunder Mountain Railroad.
-
movies usually give a
Return Time on the Magicband or park pass card.
-
live shows usually give a
return time card, which WILL have a window of 15-20 minutes to arrive for the show. That is because you are getting a time for a specific show. This is especially true if you are using a mobility device; the CMS need to make sure not to give out more return times for a show than they have wheelchair spots.
-
character meet and greets with Fastpass will give a
Return Time on the Magicband or park pass card (DAS is not used for meet and greets that don't have Fastpass.
