DAS question

The color is the same as anyone who needs their FP double checked for whatever reason.

There's just no way to offer a different method of waiting in line without it having some identifying markers.

Even if it was the same color, if no groups are sing FP the kids would realize they're touring differently.

I did end up speaking to his teacher last night. We are going to try and work something out, just not sure how yet. Without DAS or fast pass +, he simply can't go as waiting in 30 minute + lines is just not something he can do with his physical condition. It really is ashame that Disney is "singleling out" people who use the DAS with a different color etc. We adapted to the change to DAS without any problems but now......I just don't know. I will probably end up having to go with him just to be sure he has a chance at enjoying himself but that will cost more $$$$ that we just weren't planning to spend. I guess I have some really hard decisions to make now.

Another question:: do DAS holders still go to the attraction that they want a return time for? Does the CM at the attraction add it to the magic band? My experience is only with them writing the time down on the card. Sorry.

- It's not a different color.
- It's blue, the same as those who come back without a FP+, come too early, or miss their time.
- On several occasions we got blue, after CM approved we got white, then green.
- CM will stop him from entering just like the other guests who turn blue.
- His message on their screen is his picture comes up (letting the CM know he has a DAS).
- They will look at that, look at him, maybe call him by name (in a nice welcoming way).
- They tap on the override to allow him through which will activate the others on his DAS override.
- After he scans, they all scan. If someone isn't on his DAS it will not let them through.
- At second scan location it will be like everyone else since they have all been activated.

Our trip in May:
- About 1/3 of the time the CM was literally right there hanging on their podium and it happened quickly and flawlessly.
- About 1/3 of the time they were talking to someone or doing something and we would have to wait for them to turn and approve him to go through. Hence we held the line up and folks were watching.
- About 1/3 of the time it glitched and CMs would have him rescan once or twice to get it working. Again, we had people behind us watching the process.
None of these were a major issue for DS, he was unaware of the people around him, he just wanted to see green.

Process is same as to going to attraction for a time. You usually go to the Standby CMs - tell him to look for ones with iPod sized scanners in their hand. They scan the MB or ticket, ask who all is riding, tap their names and within seconds (if their wifi is working) you get a time and it shows on everyone's MDE account with the other reservations like I posted. He will need to (1) remember the return time or write it down (2) take a picture of their scanner (3) look on his MDE account for the time.

Agree with PP, the scan part is not what will tip off his friends, the entire process is obviously not ordinary.

And would be even if the old paper DAS was being used. Especially given the fact that no one else will be able to use the FP entry or have any kind of ticket or card.

I also want to add, that the DAS time does not show until the exact time of the DAS FP is ready, so if you scan at 2pm and your time isn't ready until 2:01 they will tell him he doesn't have a FP for that ride, he will then have to explain he has a DAS time, and they will scan again!

I'm quite sure that this will not work: Your son and the four (or one or twelve) assigned buddies, just them, touring as a group. This is regardless of the amount of oral or written instructions regarding DAS that is given to them beforehand.

A quarrel is likely to develop at some point during the day (or morning or mid-afternoon) with the result that the DAS process does not go smoothly. Or a CM asks a question whose answer slips their minds and the DAS process does not go smoothly.

Another question to ponder: What will your son do if his 4 buddies want to go on a different ride while waiting for their DAS time to come?
