I know DAS online preregistration opens at 7am but mornings are tough for our schedule. Has anyone tried beginning the chat in the later afternoon or even evening and been able to get through that day? I know the chat is open to 10pm, I just wasn’t sure if it fills up before then.

I have heard of people having good luck with it all hours of the day

I know DAS online preregistration opens at 7am but mornings are tough for our schedule. Has anyone tried beginning the chat in the later afternoon or even evening and been able to get through that day? I know the chat is open to 10pm, I just wasn’t sure if it fills up before then.

In Feb for a March trip, I started my virtual session about 1:30-1:45 pst in the afternoon. I expected it to take some time and since I work until 2:30, I figured I might as well get some of the wait time done while I was working. I got a CM in about 10 minutes and was approved right away and then spent another about 15-20 minutes making my ride selections. I plan to do the same in the next few days for my trip next month.

I just did it today. Chat started at 12:57pm Pacific time and it took me just under 15 mins. (Mine was a renewal so that does speed it slightly.) I was shocked at how fast and smooth the process was compared to when I did it in April. Very nice to see this operating better!

I figured I’d share our experience since I found it so helpful to read everyone else’s. We had 2 people to register and a party of 9, so we hoped to accomplish everything in 1 call. We logged in at 5:53pm. At 5:58 we got a message asking for the names of everyone in our party. At 6:15 we got the invite to video chat but our device wouldn’t connect. We were logged on with my sister’s account and switched to another device, logging in on her account again. This automatically brought us back to our chat so don’t panic if this happens! The other device connected to the video chat right away but unfortunately the cast member said they could only register 1 person per call, so my sister continued with that call (which was finished in less than 5 mins) while I connected to the chat from my phone for the other registration. I entered the chat at 6:24 and immediately got a request to video chat. The cast member asked a few questions, took a photo, and walked us through the details of booking DAS return times. The registration process was done by 6:40.

Onto the planning process - as soon as we exited the video portion we had a chat asking if we wanted to continue with making advance selections. My sister and I each did this on our own phones from our own accounts. Luckily the cast member I was working with was going quite a bit faster, so I could tell my sister the times we got and she could try to coordinate the times for their party. Of 6 park days, there was only 1 ride we weren’t able to coordinate. We got all the rides we wanted - my whole scheduling process took about 15 minutes while my sister’s took about 25.

Pretty painless other than the initial snafu with the first device. Hope this info helps someone else.
