I will be visiting Disney World for the 10th time I think but this will be the first time after having brain surgery. I’ve had multiple problems with severe headaches and neurological issues. I often have to rest, move, take medication, find a bathroom quickly because of nausea, and loud noises often frustrate me to the point of a meltdown. Do I qualify for a DAS pass? I don’t mind waiting to ride anything, I just don’t want to be in lines and around crowds for long periods of time.

To request a DAS you should plan to explain how you are impacted by waiting in a standard queue environment. Diagnosis is not necessary. Be aware that with current conditions of social-distancing it may be hard to avoid crowds which spill out into walkways and DAS does not offer a specific uncrowded place to wait.

I had a TBI from an accident a few years ago but I also have severe arthritis in both knees so I was already using an ECV at Disney. I found that I liked having that "bubble" the ECV provides plus it gave me a way to make my own seat farther from people and chill out a bit. There are a fair amount of corners and spots where there's nothing and no seating so people don't go there too much. Of course you may not need an ECV but if having a place to rest in line would help you might consider it - or a walker with a seat - so you can sit anywhere you want. You could also rent a push wheelchair and walk and push it and sit when you need to. I also park the ECV and walk at times depending on how my knees are. You really don't have to be tied down to it all day which is nice. First Aid stations are also good.

I've also found some of the rides don't agree with me very well and that's a whole other issue. I've not needed at DAS since I was able to work things out with fastpasses but since those are not being offered I'm not sure how it would be for me. I agree you need to explain to them why you cannot wait in the regular line but "rest" usually involves sitting which they will recommend you rent an ECV or wheelchair. I think I know what you mean by getting away from the craziness and the only way to do that is lying down in First Aid or going back to your room. Perhaps noise canceling earbuds would help as well so you could listen to something less chaotic than the crowds. I hope you find some solutions that work well for you and enjoy your trip!

You will need to go to GR and tell them why you need the DAS no one here can tell you if you will or will not get a DAS

I would like to second the suggestion of noise reducing ear buds, headphones, or even ear muffs. Long story short my son's life was greatly improved by the discovery he could get neat themed and decorated ear muffs and they blocked the noise that was causing him many troubles. He likes being able to have some sort of decoration, but if you aren't the flashy type an earbud does the trick without being so obvious... you'll just look like a person who can't part from one's favorite music.
