DAS for an Under 3?

Does anyone have experience for DAS with an under 3 year old being the DAS holder? My daughter who is 2 was given a DAS via the video chat. The first woman on the chat said she would need to tap into the ride first with a card or band. She has a magic band from a previous trip so we will use that. Then, when we went to the second person to make the advance selections, she had to get a supervisor to do something special because it wasn’t letting her do anything since my daughter doesn’t have park tickets. I’ve been reading that you must be tapped into the park to make a day of selection. Does anyone know how this will work with my under 3 year old? Will we tap her band at the entrance even though she doesn’t have tickets? Will we have to go to guest services each morning? Thank you for any help!

I don’t have any specific experience, but from what I’ve read, it’s issued for your child, but attached to one of the parents If the child is to young for a ticket.

I thought so too, but then she didn’t do it that. I hope it works, but I guess I will see when we get there. Thank you for your help.

We are going in June with a 2yo and I was wondering the same thing. As a total newbie to needing this, is it going to be easier if I buy a magic band for the das user, or is it simple to use this null ticket. Might be going between parents and grandparents at times if that makes a difference. We are all connected on mde.

Sorry, I haven’t used it yet, but I am going in March. My daughter has a magic band already so I am just going to use that. I guess I’ll look super cool wearing one on each wrist. 😂

My DS was 2.5 on his first trip. He is the DAS holder in our family. They issued him a null ticket and associated it with his Magic Band. On both that trip and the next one at age 4, he would not tap in with a band anywhere, so we removed the puck from the band and put it in a Mickey-shaped holder attached to a long necklace we found in a gift shop. I wore it and tapped in first to all rides we had a DAS for - it didn’t need to be scanned in at a park to do this, so I’m curious how that will work for online DAS selections. He’s 7 now, and on our last trip at age 5 he wanted to use his band to tap in like his siblings, but I will still bring the extra necklace puck thing just in case.

Thank you! You answered a lot of questions. I guess I will find out if I need to tap it into the front of the park the first day.

Guests under 3 years old don’t need a ticket, so don’t need to scan into the park.
Guests who are 3 or older need a ticket. They need to scan into the park (or someone else using their Magicband/ticket can scan in for them)
But, since they need a ticket to enter, it does need to be scanned into the park

Ok, thank you. I knew that except I was worried since the DAS says you have to scan into the park first. I’m glad it won’t be an issue.

Thank you everyone for your answers, especially the advice to look for something to snap the puck into. I'm going to purchase a magic band prior to the online interview.
