DAS card day before

fwiw...Got one at the International Gateway GR outside the park last week. It was the late afternoon after our arrival. There were a few people ahead of us but it was not busy and a very smooth process. The CM stepped out of the booth with an ipad and took the picture and we were on our way.

How long you have to wait there is quite variable because many people are there with ticketing issues, which can be time consuming.
I was at Epcot's International Gateway last week activating my annual pass renewal.
When I got in line, there were 2 windows open and only 2 CMs working. There were 5 people/groups in front of me. While I was waiting, 3 groups gave up and left because it was taking so long. I was in line about 15 minutes and then it took almost 20 minutes for my AP because of an issue with it showing up on my Magicband, but not in the My Disney Experience app. The group at the other window was being served before I got yo the window and finished about the sZme time as I did.

So, be prepared that if you do go to Guest Relations outside of the park, the issues may take longer to resolve. In our experience inside of the parks, ms y of the questions are quick requests or quick questions.

ITA!I think it depends on the lines and how much time you have. we were staying at BW and the only thing we were doing FOR SURE. was use ou old tickets once to lock in the price, then bridge to the annual pass.

we didn't need the DAS that night as we were only going in to eat and see a band.

but we figured we'd try as long as we were there anyway. we got lucky and there were no lines (it was early evening) so we saved time for the next morning, when we WERE doing rope drp at MK.

sometime ticket issues can take a while, and outside the parks you will be in line behind these.

We are going in a few weeks and I need to get a new DAS. They usually just scan the code ask me the days and guests and takes 5 minutes so no problem. However, our first night we are going straight to MVMCP. I know you can't use it during MVMCP which again no issue since we have done MNSSHP without it, but can I go to Guest Relations during MVMCP and get it that night for the rest of the weekend? I want to have it in hand before we head to AK next morning.

Thanks.

Guest Relations is open during all park hours, so you would be able to renew your DAS during the party.

We arent staying onsite our first trip, but I want to go to HS the day before and get the DAS card, plus I need to exchange our old paper tickets for the new ones. Will I have to pay to park just to do this, or do you think the parking guy will let me in if I explain it to him?

You'd have to pay to park.

If it's later in the evening there may not be a parking attendant, and therefore, no fee.

Yes we have gotten them to let us go when we said we only had to go to outside guest services but no guarantee they will

Just to add a bit of info. We almost always get our DAS card the day before. As mentioned, the guest getting the card has to be present (for the picture) but the rest of the group does not (although it's possible there's special rules if you need more than 6 guests mentioned). You only need the number of guests, not the names. We typically get it from guest services at MK which is outside but last trip we get it from HollywoodStudios where you have to go inside the park to get it. We usually wait a good 10-15+ minutes outside MK although I've seen it much longer. It only took a few minutes to get it from HollywoodStudios.
We have gotten the DAS at the outside Guest Relations a number of times for our daughter and they were always very nice and speedy and we never had an issue. We have also gotten it a couple of times outside AK.
