DAS at Disneyland!

The das time will be the ride line minus 10 minutes. Not sure for the wheel chair as we had both. A couple of weeks ago at city hall you still had to have someone wait in the regular line and then when it was your turn you could call the person with the wheelchair over. And it was not clear that that was the procedure. Don't wait in the wheel chair line without confirming that you are in the right place. It makes for a bad start to your trip. Trust me!

So basically, if a wait time is 30 minutes, you can come back in 30 minutes to ride? Or is it like a regular fastpass where the time can be later in the day? We haven't been to DL since this new procedure, but hoping to visit in July. Back then, at DL at least, you were just waived on immediately or into the fastpass queue. I remember DCA utlizing some form of this new policy at certain attractions like Soarin', but not consistently.

Also, is there an expiration time on when you can return to the attraction to ride, like there is with general fastpass?

There is no expiration time. If a ride has a 30 min wait, you will get a return time for 20 min later. They subtract 10 min from the wait time. You can go anytime after the time you are given but you cannot get another return time until you use the first one.

If you are using a wheelchair/ECV/cane, you will have a window to return. Some give you an hour, a few give you 30 mins. You are given a 10 min shortened time because it does take time to get through the HA queue. It won't be immediate boarding sometimes. For example, when we have done Alice, it took 20 mins once we were in the line.

Thanks for the info! We have a wheelchair for my son, but he doesn't need it all the time. It's mainly for when he becomes too tired.
He has a mild case of cerebal palsy which along with wearing leg braces, causes a limp in his walk and for him to tire more quickly than others.
We may not use the wheelchair earlier in the day, but would most likely be using it later on . So I guess we might be having to use both options regarding the DASpass use.

It is my understanding that mobility/stamina issues by themselves do not qualify for the DAS return times, but, they do qualify for the wheelchair return times when the attraction is not accessible. I suggest that you read the applicable stickies on the disAbilities forums along with ask any questions you have there. Several individuals have children who use a wheelchair.

We're at the airport right now waiting for our flight home. We used a DAS for our son so if there are any questions about process or procedures at either DL or DCA, I am more than happy to answer.

We had a very successful trip and used the DAS quite efficiently and effectively.

I've always appreciated your tips and your experiences. They helped me when I was doing our first trip using the DAS. Your tip of always having a return time has been so helpful. I also like how you manage the return times with you DS. Please post your experiences from this trip. Thanks for sharing!
