DAS at Character Meet at Epcot and AK

Can you use the DAS at the Minnie/Mickey character meets at AK and Epcot since they are FP too?

This must be new, as last time I was at Disney World, a DAS couldn't be used for any meet and greets including ones with FP.

You must have a misinformed CM, as this has been the written policy ever since DAS was implemented.

Done meet and greets a number of time with my DAS if there is a FP line then you can use your DAS

We almost always use DAS for the meet and greets with FP. We never know whether it will be a character trip or not for him so booking the FP for it is a gamble. Some trips he wants to meet every character and check them off. Other trips he doesn't even want to see them from afar, let alone actually MEET them. You never know how many random characters are still around the parks until you have a trip with a kid who freaks out every time he sees one.
