DAS and wheelchair return times at Disneyland?

My teenage daughter has decided to apply for a DAS for our upcoming Disneyland trip. I'm likely to have a cane or a stroller as a wheelchair sticker, for my mobility issues. I'm trying to work out the logistics of integrating both types of assistance into our group of 7 (6 teenager and up plus a 36" 2 year old.) Specifically, she needs to take significant breaks from the crowds. I anticipate there will be multiple occasions per day when she will be more than a hour "late" to her DAS return time. Not having to worry about her FP expiring unused and maybe not being available later is part of why she's willing to talk to GR about a DAS.

If she gets a DAS return time, and adds the other 5 mostly-adult members of our party, can I still get a wheelchair return time for the attractions that offer it? If I can't, can I be removed from the DAS return time fairly trivially? Does anyone who wants to ride with me also need to be removed from the DAS return time?

Other than the holder of the DAS, can we choose at the last minute who actually rides with her? So if she got a DAS and added her grandparents and cousin, but the grandparents were taking breaks of their own, could she take her aunt and cousin instead?

Can we combine DAS and baby swap? So when we go back for the DAS-return, she rides with 2-3 of our group, the rest stay with the baby who's too short, then she rides again with 2 more? If that's possible - is she required to ride the second time?

I'm sorry if these questions seem strange or manipulative - our goal isn't to game the system, and I'm fine with an answer of "Might work, might not, but it's not in the spirit of the DAS." I have a mobility issue that flares up, the grandparents have endurance issues and the toddler needs to go back to the hotel for naps and an early bedtime. We're not all good at recognizing our limits until we run headlong into them, so knowing how much last-minute flexibility we have makes it easier to go with the flow.

here is the pin thread about the DAS. https://www.disboards.com/threads/dl-dca-disability-access-service-card-post-1-update-12

No, if you are on the DAS return time you can not then get a wheelchair return time. If I can't, can I be removed from the DAS return time fairly trivially? Yes, you can or when you go to get the return time just ask not to be added to the return time Does anyone who wants to ride with me also need to be removed from the DAS return time? Yes anyone that wants to ride with you can not be on the DAS return time and the same goes the other way around anyone on your wheelchair return time cannot be on the DAS return time

Other than the holder of the DAS, can we choose at the last minute who actually rides with her? at Disney world the CM will ask how is riding and then put them on the DAS if you decided mom want to ride instead of dad then you can change band ( or ticket at Disney land) I would add whomever thinks they might want to go on and if they do not it is easier to take them off. So if she got a DAS and added her grandparents and cousin, but the grandparents were taking breaks of their own, could she take her aunt and cousin instead? This works at Disney world just note the DASholder must ride and go in first.

Can we combine DAS and baby swap? Yes, but I have never use baby swap I have been told it can work when the DAS holder rides in the first group So when we go back for the DAS-return, she rides with 2-3 of our group, the rest stay with the baby who's too short, then she rides again with 2 more? If that's possible - is she required to ride the second time? I think this is how it can work but she does not have to be in the second group

We're not all good at recognizing our limits until we run headlong into them, I would do your best to try and take a break before you get to your limit I know for me it was a trip to the ER so take breaks do a self check every 2 or 3 hours so knowing how much last-minute flexibility we have makes it easier to go with the flow.

Rider Swap at DLR now has fairly strict return times -- you have an hour to use the swap. And the times are enforced. So many families choose to use FP/MP instead because of the greater flexibility. With all the needs in your large group, it might work better to use FP/MP instead of relying on RS.

Thanks! I can totally plan around that.

We're pretty good with the chronic issues, but the stubbornness and "it's just one more" that keeps us active on a daily basis can backfire on vacation.

Yes, RS is inconvenient that way . We were spoiled by the paper RS that were good through the end of the month at WDW. We weren't very good at actually using them, though. But either someone will use the passes or they won't. The able-bodied teenagers and adult are going to have a great time of they don't ditch us!
