Hello there! I promise I have tried to search for this info in the forum before asking something that has been answered, so apologies in advance if I have missed it. Two questions are as follows:
-If our first day in the parks is Oct 16th, would Sept 16th be the day at which we can get into queue for the online pre-registration?
-What time does this queue open up each morning?

My brother is the person for whom the DAS is being requested and I would like to exlpain as much as I can to him in advance.

thank you and apologies again for redundant sort of questions!

30 days prior to your first park day is the earliest you can request DAS. So for your situation that is Sept. 16th. However keep in mind that they may not allow you to do Advanced Selections for your full visit until all days are within the 30-day window. So if you register on 9/16 you may need to reconnect later to complete the Advanced Selections.

DAS online registration opens at 7am eastern time for WDW.

If you haven't already, I suggest you read through the first post of THIS THREAD which explains DAS and the new online registration. You can ignore the rest of that thread which was discussion.

That is not true. Lots of people have been able to book their 30 days out from their first day, plus 7 days. I have seen many people reporting this.

Honestly even just making sure the first date was good is fine :)

If we can get advance selections set up then great and if not, it's also fine. We used the physical GAC for many years, then a physical DAS where times were written on the card, and then on our last trip (2015!) it was set up with the magic bands.

This is going to be our last trip for a long time; know exactly what I need to say to CMs as far as brother's needs/challenges, and even if we are just setting up the DAS onto our MDE, that is one less thing we have to queue for on our first morning and can start moving around after rope drop. He's honestly going to think it's the bees knees to "talk on the computer" with a Cast Member!

Update on DAS experience from Saturday:

Got into the queue around 10:15am CST. Yes, NOT ideal on a SATURDAY, but since I needed to make sure my brother was ok with waiting, it had to be after he had most of his morning "routines" taken care of.

Waited about 2 hours? I just kept typing "Still here!" into the chatbox and it kept me logged in.

Cast member sent a few questions about dates/members of party/if person was present. Accepted terms and conditions, and there was said CM!

I was super nervous since some folks have been denied but I explained things and needs and brother was granted pass, no problem!

I WILL have to log back on by the 20th to do advance selections for all dates, just like some of you guys said, but I am just tickled that we have the DAS already lined up, and that is one less thing to worry with on the first day since we are staying off property this time.

Thank you to everyone in this forum for helping; it made it much easier to prepare my brother for the wait!

Awesome. I love your username!

an old reliable website when it comes to figuring out your days out that you are interested in:

These calculators are useful.
One thing I’ve seen recently is that when guests connect to the chat, it now says right in the chat window, ‘we are currently assisting guests with park dates from XX/XX/2023 to XX/XX/2023’
So, guests who are too early should know right away and can get off the chat without waiting

Well honestly, the advance selections are nice, but not the main reason that I needed to do the chat on Saturday. My brother lives with my mum and she isn't the best at that sort of thing. SO. I traveled home an hour or so this weekend from where I live.

I don't mind hopping back on in a few days; the CM gave me a direct link to the advanced selection queue so I don't have to hold up a spot for those needing to video chat! :)
