Darth Vader visits MK! Video!

My DH found this video on You Tube... I love it! Didn't see it posted on here yet.

That's actually a somewhat old commercial that was made during the time when they were re-imagining Star Tours.
(Star Tours was closed to guests at the time.)

In the one at the link, they have just changed the first lines shown at the head of the spot,
and have cut off the original "pay-off" scene with Vader just standing disappointedly
in front of the closed Star Tours attraction.

But yes, the spot is very clever, even re-cut.

It is also Disneyland. I love this commercial though!

Soon they'll use this footage for a WDW commercial ;)

Most of the scenes are very obviously Disneyland.

0:08 Teacups DLR (not under a roof.)
0:10 DLR Dumbo.
0:13 Carrousel could be either place, if you don't look too closely.
0:16 DLR Castle and Matterhorn mountain clearly seen behind CS stand.
0:24 DLR Space Mountain
0:30 DLR Castle
0:32 Sword in the Stone (we see the name "King Arthur Carrousel" in bkg.)
0:40 Parade could be either place, if you don't look too closely.
0:44 DLR Astro Orbiter (Ground level, with DLR attractions seen in bkg.)
0:46 Riverboat. This could pass, if you don't look too closely.
0:49 HM. Works for either location.
0:51 Dance venue. Not at MK.
0:54 Tiki Room. Works for either location.
0:57 DLR Castle
0:58 Watching Fireworks. Works for either location.

So, they'd have to re-shoot if they want a WDW version.

Great video, good laughs. As a star wars geek cant help but think good things will come from this!

I've always loved the commercial. Would be great if they did another one for Disney World.

Robo, they'll use DL footage no matter what.

Hehe, have to watch that and the (I think it is) Magellan commercial every now and then.
My favorite part is the map and then the storm trooper covering their entrance to STs at the end. I just noticed the first storm trooper walking away with a churro at the snack cart.

Not a lot, though.

Most casual viewers (the ones who either don't know the difference between the parks or who are just watching a commercial and not dissecting it for images) wouldn't quibble about the dance venue, Space Mountain, Astro-Orbiter, Dumbo or Teacups. The only ones you'd really have to change to brand it WDW are the castle shots and the carousel. Everything else moves quickly enough that the DLR version could fudge by.

There is no water effect like that in the Tiki Room in MK. I didn't pick up on it but was watching the video with my DS who pointed it out. We have been to the tiki room 3 times this past week lol.

Awesome video, thanks for sharing.

I had just watched the Transformers announcement over at Universal Studios so the Disney has now been balanced out in this household :)
