I went to MGM today to try to get Darth Goofy for many of you who have contacted me. I went last weekend, but couldn't even get in the door to try to get them. Today, I had no trouble getting in. That should have been a sign.

I'm sorry to say that I was not able to get any. They are completely sold out of Darth Goofy. I asked the CM if it was just for this weekend or totally. He said they had no more.

For those of you who had asked me to try to get one for you, I'm very sorry. Although I live close by WDW, it doesn't really give me an edge as to getting merchandise. I really wish it did.

Again, sorry!

Not at all surprised. We actually thought it wouldn't make it past the first weekend like Mickey last year. I'm glad we were there opening week. They need to limit it to one per person. We saw a lady with a bag full of them. I know it's only 2 per person, but they still need to be fair.

Had to go Ebay for Darth Mickey last year.

Paid 50 bucks.

We were lucky & got ours the first weekend.

IMO, the policy is fair. They are limited to 2 per guest but if you are a group of 4 each of you could wait your turn in line to buy 2 & no one would be breaking any policy.

We were there Sat 5/20 & I was just glad they didn't sell out on day 1.

try again this weekend is star wars weekend try over by who wants to be a millionarie there is a store set up for star wars weekend they had tons there last weekend

That is where I went today. They said that there are no more Darth Goofy available.

Thanks for trying for us...It was really nice of you to offer. I figured they would go fast. They are very cute.

Hopefully we will get there one year for StarWarsWeekend...To dream... :cloud9:

I hope you still had fun at the parks...

We were there on the 1st day SWW...Friday May 19th.

DD11 & I stood in line for 2 hours to get DS8 (who was off playing in the park with DH) a Darth Goofy. We actually bought 3 Darth Goofys. We thought we'd bring some home for friends too.

Well, the next day was our check-out day and we were at POFQ to look at the resort & use up our CS credits. We just decided to return the extra 2 Darth Goofys in the resort gift shop rather than bring them home.

You should have seen the look on the CM face! I wondered if they would resell them there or send them back to MGM.

I wish I still had them...I'd send them to you FeralPeg.

That's funny. You are probably the first people to ever return one of the limited edition SWW plush. LOL! I wonder if they made it back to MGM or if they went home with a happy CM.

if i had known i would have picked them up last weekend sorry to here the place did not have them

You're kidding me!?!!! I'm going to be TICKED if there are really NONE next weekend when we arrive! What happened to rationing them so they'd be available ALL weekends. GRRRR!!

They're all gone, last year, Darth Mickey sold out the first weekend. They always go fast.

The point being that they SHOULD ration them to have them available ALL weekends. :furious: My little :ewok: would have been  to get a darth :goofy: Can't wait til we move to Orlando so we can actually GET some of this stuff.....

Last year we went done to Disney the last week of June which was long after SW weekend and I bought my son a Jedi Mickey from the SW store. Do you think they get more in later or was this one different from the SW weekend ones. When we were there there were a bunch of them available.

The Jedi Mickey is not a special plush for the SWW. It is available all the time. We got one in January of this year & they were there during our May trip also.

We went the 1st two weekends. The first weekend, Darth Goofy was stored behind the counter. The 2nd weekend, he was out on the floor. There were several round storage bins and there were a ton of him in there. We couldn't believe there were that many. I think when he was stored behind the counter not enough ppl were knowing about him. They put him on the floor and he was with in everyone's reach. May have changed his selling pattern and made him more accessible to people. I think it was last year that Mickey was so popular. When he sold out, there were so many upset. Disney ended up handing out tickets with a website to order more. This made those happy who couldn't buy one, but made those angry who did buy one. Because it went from a limited edition collector's item, to a more than you realize collector's item. Guess it's a wait and see to find out what will happen this year.

Would love to know if anymore become availible. I am trying to decide whether or not to do Mgm the 11th in order to get an auto or two or Go to visit Epcot for the am Emh thinking it would be less crowded than usual due to the SWW. My newphew wanting me to bring him back a Darth Goofy was one thing tipping the scales toward Mgm.

They only made 4000 of the Darth Goofy. A CM told me that and I checked the tag on my daughter's. Considering the number of people who want them that is not very many. While I wish they would make enough for everyone who wanted one, I can sort of see their point of view. It is a limited edition merchandise for SWW. That point alone, brings people in.

Seems to me that they should hold onto a certain number of these to put out on the other SWweekends. That way oit would be fair to those who go after the first weekend...

Say release 2000 on the first weekend then 1000 each other weekend...but I guess I'm not the one making those decisions... :rotfl2:

We too were very disappointed to find out that Darth Goofy had sold out. We were at MGM this past weekend and spoke with a cast member regarding the 2-per-person policy, saying we wished they had something in place like Star Wars Celebration does, where they issue & mark your pass after you purchase, so you cannot purchase any more. The CMs told us that they had a Japanese family there the day before that literally spent their ENTIRE day going in and out of Wicket's Warehouse buying Darth Goofy. They spent over $5000 in Darth Goofys, and the higher-ups only realized what was happening when the shoppers kept sending their packages to the Guest Services counter at the MGM gate for pickup later, and there were hundreds of Darth Goofys in the bags. The CMs admitted there was no way to stop them as it was their choice to spend their day buying Goofy. But it is a huge bummer for people like us, who get them for our kids each year, and know that those toys are just going to show up on Ebay. (Edit: Case in point, there are currently 52 Darth Goofys for sale on Ebay right now.)

I LOVED that they made Darth Mickey available on the web for a few more days last year, and would gladly, gladly purchase him again. Limiting the number of production is fair, but not limiting how many can be purchased is not. I don't even know what Darth Goofy sold for this year, but if he was $12, this family alone bought 416 of them -- a good 1/8th of the entire production run.
