I had planned to book Oak Plantation on Hotelkingdom for Feb. 6th through the 10th, but when I went back last night to do so, the rate had jumped from $62 to $70. Not that much, but I HATE paying more for something than I could have. And it had still been $62 that same afternoon. Meanwhile I looked at Comfort Suites Maingate East and saw that their internet rate was $71.99 for a studio suite (I saw it on Hotelmartusa for $59). Following some advice I saw here on the Dis I did the best e-rate guarantee through choicehotels and got a rate of $53.10. So over 4 days that's a savings of $60 over OP. I'd be really thrilled over getting such a good rate at the CS, since their feedback is so good and they offer a free continental breakfast, but my heart is still in going to Oak Plantation. On the other hand CS is closer to WDW...I'm still feeling conflicted, as you can tell! Any advice?

hey stay with what you got.

now if you are going to be there for a week or more - I would give different advice. but for a few days - it should work out fine.

Stay with what you have.

Hotels have an internet best rate guarantee. Why only the net you ask? Well because internet companies have contracts with them that gives them the best rate guarantee. If the hotel offers lower than the best rate, they breach their contract and can get sued.

Comfort Inn Maingate East is a great place to stay! Great location, really nice pool - we've stayed there on 2 occasions and loved it!

We are at the Comfort Suites MG East right now and love it. The hotel is spotless, the staff terrific and the location is great. The breakfast is pretty good but if you are a bacon and eggs person it gets a little boring. On the other hand it is free and convenient.

The rate is really good. We did the same thing and are paying $49.50 and our room is fine.

Stay put

Has anyone ever stayed at the Doubletree Villas Maingate? I'm particularly interested in knowing how big a two bedroom villa is. I have a feeling I'm going to want to get as far away as I can from my two boys after spending the day at WDW with them. Also, how far away from WDW is it? The hotel website just gives you the distances from the park " as the crow flies ". This can be very deceptive.

How far are you from the parks? We have our own car and will drive. About how long? We are only doing 2 nights, so I would rather spend the $$ on souvies, etc than on a hotel onsite. I can't stand not being able to take at least a day or two to enjoy the onsite hotels - we just don't have the time this trip.
