So I'm doing the single digit dance now... there is SOOO much to do the weekend before you go! We've done the last minute shopping (we think!). I've made a list of what to pack. We've gotten the luggage from it's storage (a whole YEAR in the garage!). We've found a kennel for the dog
(Sorry Clydas, you can't come this time! Besides, I don't think you'd enjoy the 6 hour flight) and a sitter for the cats and we're ready to go! Sort of...
This year, the cast of characters includes the Dill party. They are good friends of ours - Cam and Janelle. Due to get married in June, they are scoping out WDW as a honeymoon spot by tagging along with DH and I on this trip for a few days. Thing is we couldn't get them seats together on Delta... (They were on-and-off when we ordered tickets, so Janelle's came a week or so later than Cam's)... and Janelle has NEVER flown before. Ugh! So much to do! Being a fairly veteran traveler, I'm helping her out with a list of what to pack, what NOT to pack in your carry on, and the in's and outs of air travel (like getting to the airport SUPER early, etc).
I still feel like I'm forgetting something VERY important, but I can't remember what it is! Only 5 more days to remember it too... Ugh! Do you ever feel like that just before a trip?
I'm also VERY excited! We've been planning this trip for a year now, and it's our first vacation in 2 years! We'll be arriving 11/23 and staying through 12/4 at the pop while the Dill party will be there 11/27-12/2 (giving us "old married folk" some downtime alone
He he he)
I've made Cam and Janelle a Disney treat bag I'm going to give to them tomorrow with instrunctions to carry it on the plane and NOT to open it until they get on the plane.
Inside are some little treats we picked up form our last trip to Disneyland (last Saturday). We got some Mickey mouse shaped pretzles, and a different chocolate bar for each of them. I plan on adding to that with a letter (on Disney Christmas stationary that I picked up in Disneyland too) that says how excited we are to see them and how much we can't wait to share all that is special, romantic, and amazing about Disneyworld during the holidays with them.
A side note- this trip is extra special for Cam. Last time he went was with his family, about 8 years ago. Shortly after that, his mother died suddenly. I hear she was a wonderful woman (sadly, I never got to meet her). Cam was a teenager when she died, so we're hoping this trip will bring back lots of great memories for his fiancee to share with him.
I think tinkerbell can handle that little bit of magic for us.
See ya'll before we leave!
