Dark Transfer Paper Vs Light

A COUPLE OF QUICK QUESTIONS.

WHEN YOU ARE USING THE DARK TRANSFER PAPER YOU DO NOT CHANGE YOUR PRINTER TO PRINT A TRANSFER, JUST A REGULAR PRINT?

ALSO, I UNDERSTAND THAT IF I AM TRANSFERRING ONTO A DARK SHIRT, I NEED TO USE THE DARK XFER SHEETS. IS THIS TRUE FOR COLORS LIKE ORANGE,BRIGHT GREEN ETC.? CAN YOU USE THE DARK TRANSFER PAPER FOR ALL SHIRTS INCLUDING WHITE?

IS THERE A BENEFIT TO USING THE DARK IN LIGHT FABRICS AND HOW DOES IT HOLD UP??

Yes, you can use dark transfers for light or dark colored shirts. Dark transfers are more matted (less shiny) than light transfers. I prefer that and use dark on everything.

When deciding if you need light or dark - think of it like this...
If there is any white in the design at all - with a dark transfer it will be white
with a light transfer it will be clear - the color of the shirt.
So for example on an orange shirt - all white areas would be orange. I made this mistake ONCE and only once and now try to warn anyone who asks.

For light transfers you often have to mirror or flip the design image and for dark you typically do not. But read your directions very carefully about this because that is only a general rule - each transfer is different.

So I Imagine Dark Is The Way To Go. I Just Didn't Know If It Holds Up In The Wash Any Different Than The Light Transfers.
