Dark Shadows

I think she introduced Roger (?), David's father, as her brother early in the story.

When Barnabus asked the handiman whether the Collins endure, he was told that four Collins still live. That'd be

2 Collins siblings: Elizabeth and Roger . . . I don't know what happened to Elizabeth's husband, but presumably she's not called Collins any longer . . . or perhaps she never married, which would make Caroline a Collins too

Elizabeth and Roger each have one child: Caroline and David

4 Collinses . . . plus Barnabus, once he returns

I believe on the show she was called Mrs Stoddart, or something like that...

In the original Elizabeth was Elizabeth Collins Stoddard. Which is why she was the head of Collins family. Her husband was deceased.

My bf and I thought the movie was great! We were never hysterically laughing like we had expected (as the trailer made it appear to be a comedy), but it was good nonetheless. A little weird at times, but what do you expect... it's Tim Burton!!

No, the twist at the end has to do with the teenaged daughter. She's been keeping a secret from her mom, and I do agree with the poster that said that detail was out of the blue and did not serve to forward the plotline in any way.

Ya...that was the stupidest part of the movie...pointless

Thanks MrsPete. You are right. I had forgotten that.

I thought the maid was the funniest of them all and she never said a word. Pretty close to the maid on the series.

We saw it Friday night and despite the terrible reviews at IMDB we thought it was entertaining.

I'm so irritated by this whole movie. Dark Shadows was my all time favorite show growing up. It was so different from anything else out there at the time. Everyday Mon-Fri at 4pm was Dark Shadows time:) It was not a comedy. I pretty much detest anything Tim Burton and Johnny Depp does nothing for me. I know that no one asked for my opinion but thought I would give it anyway:rotfl:

I thought the first half was really entertaining and quite funny - at least for those of us who were youngish in the 1970s. But the second half was just so-so. The best parts were Johnny Depp's character discovering the 1970s, and that kind of ended about half way through and it turned into just a "regular" movie with a special effects show at the end.

I can see why big fans of the original show might not appreciate it, though.

I'd like my money and time spent back. Really an overall disappointment. I'm a Depp fan and think he did a good job portraying the character. Never saw a minute of anything prior labeled Dark Shadows.
