Ladies, what is your best cure for dark circles/bags under the eyes? Although I probably don’t get enough sleep (who does?) I have always had very dark, pronounced circles under my eyes. Besides getting more sleep (wouldn’t that be nice, but not realistic at this time) what is your best cure for reducing these circles?

This can also be a sign of chronic allergies. Do you have any? Have you seen a physician if you do?

I was going to mention the allergies thing too. My DS has always had those circles and they are from food allergies.

The best thing I have found is the yellow concealer stick. It cools the puffiness and conceals the dark circles. Never thought I would own yellow concealer, but I love it.

I have them. It's a combination of genetics & allergies for me. A good concealer helps.

go to makeupalley.com and you may be able to find some answers. That is my go to site for all things beauty. You can do a search once you get to the message boards. Just type in words... dark circles. I came up with all kind of talk about circles. Also go to productville and look under category and pull up concealers and you can check out all those products and see what covers the best. Some folks have such dark circles they need a concealer and a lightening product over the top of the concealer.

A good concealer stick and a good night's sleep. I have the tendency to have circles in certain types of light but make-up does help. I'm not as bad as some of the female relatives on my father's side. Some of my dad's family look like they were punched in the face before any picture was taken. My ancestors look like a bunch of boxers who just lost a fight. Hopefully that gene will eventually be bred out!

A former co-worker of mine swore by Preparation H--said it shrinks the blood vessels that cause the undereye darkness. I'd heard that before, but she was the first person I ever met who admitted to using Preparation H for that purpose.:lmao:

Ive actually heard of others using it. Its a good idea ill have to try it . I think my dh has some, but im thinking it would be a good idea to go get my own fresh tube :rotfl: :rotfl:

Hmmm, there might be something there. Someone said (I think it was on the DIS) to sleep in total darkness (use a mask if you have to) because *any* amount of light keeps the blood pumping through that area, or something like that. I've also heard on the View to put potato slices on your eyes in the morning. I think it was the potassium that's supposed to help with that. I've not tried either of these yet but I have tried lots of concealers and NOTHING has helped. I think I heard one time that if the circles are heriditary (as mine are) that nothing will help. :guilty:

Preperation H is for puffiness, not dark circles. It's also supposed to thin the skin under the eyes, which is terrible if you don't like wrinkles.

Thanks all. I am very interested in the allergy connection. I have what I would consider chronic allergies. I have a constant stuffed up nose (365 days a year) and my eyes water all the time. I did allergy testing this year, and it came up with nothing. I never realized that the dark circles under my eyes could be a symptom. If it is allergy related, would taking an over-the counter allergy med help at all?

I think I am going to have to try Prep-H and ANEW CLINICAL Eye L.

Keep the ideas/products coming!

This may sound really crazy, but I stopped wearing anti-perspirant with aluminum in it. I didn't do this to cure my dark circles, but because of an infection in my lymph glands (aluminum poisoning). However, I had always battled dark circles under my eyes, and they had become VERY pronounced in the last few years. Once I switched from anti-perspirants to deodorants (all natural ones), what happened to my eyes was amazing! I don't even wear concealer anymore.

Great thread. I've always had dark circles under my eyes. No swelling, just the circles. While they're worse when I'm tired, they never completely go away even when I'm well rested.

Concealers help a little but they're still there for sure. I'm going to try some of the suggestions here and I'll report back on the results. :upsidedow

Cle De Peau

Its the BEST concealor on the market. Believe me, I've tried them all. Its expensive, but, if your dark circles are very dark and nothing else seems to hide them, this is what to buy.

It can be bought at Berdorff Goodmans either on-line at there site or at the store. I'm sure other same type stores sell this product, but, I get it at BG.

My circles are so dark, they have a blue tint to them. I put this on followed with translucent powder and I'm good to go all day.
