Dare to be Different?

I buy clothes that I like, no matter where that may be.
West 49 and D-Tox are my favorite stores, but I'll shop pretty much anywhere. There's very few stores I refuse to shop in (Garage is pretty much the only one).

I don't go out of my way to be different, or to be the same. I wear what I like, and if people find it unique, whatever.
I do have a thing for owl clothing though xD

Don't talk about the 'chav' brands lol. It's true I own some of those brands, but it is for sport only I swear!

We also have uniform, but your "sense of style" at our school is made up by looking at your shoes or your bag.

-:hippie:Ashleigh

Our sense of style is made up by looking at our shoes, bags, belts, hair and make-up (oh and jackets but they're introducing school coats and jackets next september.)
'Chavs' dominate the school so therefore 'chav' brands are the most popular. I think some of the Mckenzie hoodies are nice but so over priced for someone who spends most of their time in riding gear. I hate Lonsdale with a passion though. 'Chavs' are taking over Nike as well but i wear that for sport and stuff anyway. Luckily they seem to be backing off my adidas. xD.

I don't really TRY to be different, I just wear things that looks good on me & that I think are cool.

I'm kind of fashion forward & I'll wear the weird stuff in H&M that no one esle will try.

In HS I was the first girl to wear a dress to school (which then became a huge trend. bleh) and I'm not afraid to take risks when it comes to fashion.
I was wearing Hollister & A&F in grade 8 before anyone even knew what it was.
I don't really wear it anymore, I prefer to shop at stores that are more fahsion-y rather than...california-y? (lol, or whatever it is A&F/Holli are)
Like H&M (which is kind of like urban outfitters in the states), Gap, Banana Republic stuff like that.
There's this place in downtown Toronto called Kensington Market which has THE most AMAZZZING clothes that you can't find anywhere else. It's awesome.

And there is this place called Aritzia (if you live in Canada I guarantee you've seen their logo plastered on the butt of EVERY girl in your HS) that literally EVERY GIRL shops at, it's the Hollister of Canada I guess you could say. They've got this brand called "TNA" and walking around my campus, I swear to you every other girl has a TNA bag, TNA sweater and/or TNA pants. It's ridiculous.
They have some nice clothes there, but I've never bought anything becuse it's all really over priced and basically everywhere you go, someone will have the same outfit as you.

Anyways, so yes, I do dare to be different, I'll wear the stuff that is in style, but no one else really wants to wear to school.

There are no Aritizia's down here, but I think they're mostly Central and Western Canada.
Anyhoo, but I have been in one, and I tend to agree with what you've said. Over priced.

Round here, the over worn stuff is AE, and A&F. People love to shop at these stores. Even though the closest A&F is like 4 hours away in Bangor, everyone has the same shirts, and everything. It's kind of annoying.
For the average kids (in other words, kids whose parents don't let them pay more than $40 for a sweater, etc) it's Garage. Garage makes me want to cry. It's all awkward looking and horribly tight fitting. The shirt will look huge, and you put it on, and it's so ridiculously tight.

I LOVE Kensington Market! It really does have the best clothes...
I used to shop at Aritzia, but now I stopped because it's so popular and annoying. And TNA just pisses me off so much.. but I wont start with that.

Yeah Aritzia is totally the most over worn thing ever, and completely irritates me too. I can't STAND to see that stupid logo all over the place.
And garage in pretty brutal too!!
I don't really like stiches or sirens either, but sometimes in sirens you can find one or two 'different' looking items that are kind of cute and inexpensive.

kind of OT; but i've never seen an H&M in the states...do you guys have that store??

I dislike Stitches. A lot. Most of their stores are dirty, I'm afraid to go in their changing rooms because there's nowheres to put anything and the floor is COVERED in dust bunnies.
And a lot of their clothes are those annoying graphic tees that say 'clever' things

I wear stuff from target, H&M, Forever 21 and stuff like that. or stuff i make like my transformers dress.

I don't wear brand names.
I wear tee shirts that I get from things I do. Shows, school activities, etc.
And a pair of jeans.
Almost every day.
These people have seen me 180 days out of 365 days for ever year of my life.
I could care less what they think anymore.

My school has uniforms. - we have a lot of dress down days though..
&& welll... I wear a lot of hollister. and abercrombie.

EDIT :

I was a complete jerk.
Forgive me, and what I said.

No, I don't really try to be different. It doesn't matter.

I just wear whatever.

Okay..
Not so sound like "ohemmmgee you copier"

but seriously, I just said "I dont dare to be different, I just am" and then EVERYONE ELSE says the same exact thing, except different wording.

Okay no,
Im not going to follow the "great minds think alike" Im practically sure some of you read my post, and decided to say that.
I mean seriously, what are the odds that MOST of you were going to say "I dont 'try' to be different i am different"

Theres no flippin way ALL of you MADE that up, on your own, and decided to post it without "reading the previous posts"

Sorry,
I just hate it when people do that, Im sure SOME of you had no idea, but Im pretty sure SOME of you knew whos post you were refferancing to trying to sound all cool because "Hey, I came up with this totally awesome wording, that sounds so witty and smart, imma gonna post it!".

Sorry,
That made absolutly no sense, but in a way it did!

Ppffftttttt!! :headache:
Okay, wow. Mouse, you know I like you but that post was completely rude. I'll be honest here, you don't own those words.

A lot of people do not try to be different, they just don't like the trends today so they dress differently. That's what most people mean. I know that's how I am. I really dislike abercrombie so I avoid the store, simple. I dress in clothes I find comfortable and if that makes me 'different' then so be it.

Maybe you're having a bad day or something, perhaps you should take a step back from the computer. I've never seen you act this way.

Well, I hate "the prep stores."
I just wear t-shirts and jeans to school, basically. Next year, I have to wear a uniform >.<

trying to be different is silly, in my opinion. just wear what you like, be that the name brand stuff, or off brand thrift store stuff. just be yourself.

Wow,
No, sorry.
I didnt mean to come off that way at all.
Thats why I said "That made no sense, but in a way it did"

Ive never even seen myself act that way!
:scared1:
Holy smokies, im..a..MONSTER!

Ack.

Sorry folks, I didnt mean to come across that way. You know how I am, and thats not me.

I just meant like, agh.
I dont know how to explain it, so I wont even attempt to.

That had to have been the worst post Ive EVER made, and hopefully it will be the last post I will ever make like that.
I seriously had no idea it came off like that.

*cringes*
Wow

Now, Im mad at myself!!
:headache:
I was never mad at ANYONE on here, and I never will be, I...hmph.
Never mind.
Forget what I said,
I hope this doesnt change anything between anyone and I on the DIS, but as my mom always says "You only get 1 first impression"

Ya know, I would blame it on my high fever that I have today, but thats just not right. A good workman never blames his tools.
So I won't blame it on my brain.

:scared1:  :scared1:

::yes::

:rotfl:

No hard feelings, I get like that sometimes too.

Well, probably to people you dislike.
I havnt really found anyone on the dis that makes me upset.
Which is why im still trying to figure out why I said what I said.
I guess if i look back on it, today has been the weirdest day of my life.
As it turns out, my best friends..LIED to me, to make me upset, and to make my other friend look like a tramp to me.

I love my friends, I couldnt live without them, but seriously why would they lie to me? It makes my head hurt to know that 1 of my best friends are lying to me. No matter what happens, in the end someone has to confess to lying.

It makes no sense!
I make no sense!
Today is a particularly confusing day.

Wow
Sorry.
Sooo off topic.
:guilty:
