Dapper Days in September - anyone else thinking of going?

But I'm open to whatever. And no, that's not a relative of whoever :rotfl:

Tis my second cousin thrice removed...

In all seriousness (did I just say that?) I had a good friend who's online moniker was "whatever". Inspired mine in fact.

I got into SanDiego this morning and after an exhausting day at work, and a wonderful dinner out, I'm counting the hours until the wife gets here and then we head up to DLR. Should be there O-dark-thirty Friday morn, drop the bags with bell services at the Grand until our room is ready and hit the park for our first-ever sans-kids trip together.

Not prepared for the heat, but we won't be going dapper until 3-4pm.

If I remember, I'll bring nametags and we can put our DIS names on them :)

Remember when we used to put the lime green Mickey heads from Home Depot on our bags so other DISers would recognize us in the parks? :goodvibes

Ha!!! That's funny!!! Did you ever do "Whoever's on first, whatever's on second"?

We're coming in on Thursday morning, checking in at GCH, and then disneyluvr2 and I will be roaming the parks until afternoon when the rest of our group arrives. We're planning to dress dapper Thursday evening for our special dinner :lovestruc

Oh, I can't wait for our "special dinner"! Does your special dinner place have a special door, whoever??! :thumbsup2

Hey, I think I still have my lime green Mickey head. LOL! Don't forget to bring your Sharpie DizMe so we can write our names!

I'll never be without my sharpie again

Seriously! To paraphrase Flynn Ryder, "Sharpies! Who knew?" See, I first dyed my bone colored shoes red using a sharpie (see pic in earlier post). Then, when I couldn't find any red earrings for my outfit, I bought a pair from WalMart and colored them with my sharpie. I was joking about how the red lipstick I bought looked awful on me and I should just use my sharpie when I thought, why not? And...yes! My red sharpie works as lipstain! And it didn't stop there. I painted my toenails just to see. It worked!

Sharpies. Who knew?

I have to work on Friday from 4-8:30, so I can't make the meet. But I would love to hang out with you guys earlier in the day!

Mary Jo and I are having lunch at Paradise Gardens at 1pm.

Everyone is welcome to meet us. We'll probably be near the far south entrance in front of Boardwalk Pizza & Pasta, near the parade gate. Hope that description works. :)

hmmmmm, grass skirt......shorts and t-shirt.....haha.... last minute decisions and hot weather.. oh well.... probably just a tiny bit dapper for me, but I will still try to make it at 5pm ...(we, too are staying at GCH and arriving Thursday am. flying from OAK).

WOW!! You look AWESOME!! Love the pearls, love the fascinator, love the dress, and man, those shoes are super cool!! Where'd you find those?

Thank you so much!! The shoes were a fluke find on Friday. They are Clarks Artisian sandals with crocodile texture that actually velcro so very adjustable. Found at my local DSW on clearance :)

Actually this whole outfit was put together in about two days lol. Dress is a Ralph Lauren on clearance for 35 bucks, fascinstor from thrift store Halloween section for 8 bucks, pearls from thrift store for 6 for the necklace and bracelet 3 bucks from thrift store.

It indeed does. Dinner was unavailable, so lunch plans were made instead for that Saturday. I've never been there for lunch.. should be a real treat.

How fun to put your great outfit together in a couple of days for such a deal. You look wonderful! And the shoes are fabulous!

I'll be wearing my black and white stripped dress and facinator for my dapper evening attire.

Your outfit is fantastic--so perfectly dapper and fashionable and just right for the weather! We don't arrive at the GCH until late Friday (10:30) so I wasn't going to dress for DD, but maybe I will just for my flight and GCH night cap. I am sad to miss the Disboard meet on Friday. I'll try to make the Saturday one though and hope to run into you and Dizme!!

Make sure you check out Ross's I saw some great "50's and '60's looking dresses. They say it all come back around. I would have bought one but to small for me. I like the idea of the grass skirts. Daughter took Hawaiian dance for 10 years. ( neighbor was hawaiian and taught the class -- when she retired so did daughter LOL) I have so much Hawaiian dance supplies that I would have fit right in. Look forward to finally seeing you all at lounge and pp.

I completely agree with this. All my previous polka dot dresses have come from Ross. Love them for my dresses.
