I have booked at the GCH for the 24th - 01 May for Dapper Days. On the advice of DISers I called the convention line and added 5 day Hoppers + 1 twilight ticket to my booking without any trouble.

Out of curiosity I visited the Dapper day link to convention ticket pricing and it clearly says the tickets are valid from 4/26/2016 - 5/08/16 only

Now I'm concerned my existing convention tickets won't be valid for the start of my stay. Should I just call the convention line and ask them? It's long distance so I thought I'd ask here first!

You can call, but if they are the Dapper Days convention tickets, they won't be valid for the first day of your stay. They have specific dates they are valid for, and your first day falls outside of that window.

I called the convention line today and gave them my confirmation number. They looked at the tickets held under my reservation and he said I'm holding 5 day Hoppers + 1 twilight ticket and the tickets are valid from my arrival date. He said he can't speak to what is on the Dapper day website but the tickets we have are regular convention tickets with no date restrictions. Fingers crossed.

Crossing my fingers it works. I have never heard of convention tickets that don't have date restrictions since they are specific for certain events.

I am wondering about this too - I just booked for the Fall Dapper Days and am thinking we won't be able to use the tickets as we'd be arriving the weekend of the official event but would be staying past the end date of the event so wouldn't be able to use our tickets past that time. Might have to just buy tickets elsewhere I guess.

I just spoke with Hector at the Disney Convention #- sadly, he confirmed that our Dapper Day tickets won't be valid on the 25th. :( He suggested I cancel the 5 day hoppers I have and buy them direct since getting the 4 day (w Dapper Day rate) and 1 day PH tickets is more money.

When I prebook my ticket with the group sale, I was also told the tickets are good for the duration of my stay. However, on the safe side, I didn't plan anything for the 25th or the 26th. I'm now thinking go to the park on the 26th and skip Friday the 29th to avoid the AP holders at F&W.

Did you book your tickets through the convention line directly or through the Dapper day website?
I booked mine directly long before they were available for sale on the Dapper day site which might make a difference. Guess I had better make another call just to be sure.:guilty::guilty::guilty:

I booked directly through the convention line many months ago. I understand that only certain dates are included- but don't see how they didn't pick up on it when I booked. Still, it's better to learn now than have to sort out at check in I guess.

Well I'm going to call again to see what I can find out. When I added the tickets to my reservation no terms and conditions ( in regards to dates ) were reviewed with me as none were available. She just said that it is a good idea I'm adding them now as it guarantees pricing and booked them for me.Then on my follow up again I was assured they would be valid.

I'm going to try the regular reservation line right now as the convention center line is closed.

Edit: I press #2, it goes back to the start of the messaging system so I'll try tomorrow I guess.

Also, on the website it does say that Convention ticket prices are only available online and clearly that isn't the case as we could all book them directly with the convention center so I'm very confused ( and a little stressed ). I'll be quite disappointed if this is the case as now prices have gone up :(

I hope you have more luck than I did. I was transferred a few times and they ended up directingmy call to the convention supervisor. I explained that originally, the dates weren't mentioned (other than having to have 4/29 included on the room reservation) but was still told that first day 4/25 the tickets wouldn't be valid. He was nice enough to do the math with me and the 4 day convention rate hoppers plus the one day regular hopper was more than just buying 5 day hoppers-
Dissapointing yes, but I'm still glad we didn't find this out at the gates our first morning.

I was planning to go on the 24th with the twilight ticket as that is my arrival day. If the tickets aren't honored I'm in a bit of a jam. No twilight ticket for arrival day and more expensive hoppers not through the convention at all. Our stay starts on the 24th so we are two days shy. I'll call again tomorrow and you're right, I'm better off finding out ahead of time.

Looks like I need to call back also as I was told in Feb when I confirmed my reservations that they had the Dapper Day Rates and tickets on hold for us at the price before the price increase. And wasn't told about some days as it not being good for. We're going April 28th - May 4th with Dapper Day tickets / rates. I'll be checking here to see what others find out.

Your dates should be fine as passes are in effect the 26 April and on. I'll call later today and update the thread. I'm going to ask straight up if there are any restrictions on usage dates. Imo the convention desk just adds the convention tickets they don't verify rules especially if none were posted at the time. I'm not sure how else to ask as I've already been told once they are fine. :p

Thank you, thank you........

OK friends. I called the convention line 714 520 5005 and spoke to a lovely girl named Marie.

I asked her to pull up my reservation and she confirmed my arrival date and that I was with the Dapper Day convention.

I then asked if she could see my Cabana reservation and my Park tickets. She confirmed I have 3 x 5 day Park hoppers and 3 x 1 Twilight tickets. I asked if I could pick up my tickets at check in and go to the Park the same day and she said yes, you can use them right away. She also said it was smart to have booked them so far in advance because the prices have gone up ( this was mentioned to me by the CM who took my initial reservation as well ) :). So far so good.

I stopped beating around the bush at that point and asked the CM if there were any restrictions on the dates of the tickets. She said they have to be used during the Convention dates so people can't buy them now to be used in July. Since the Dapper Day convention is from 24 April onwards (The date of the blocked rooms? ) my park tickets would be fine. I feel a little relieved. :)
