Hello

Can anyone book through dapper days for the reduced rate if sign up for their emails??

Thanks

I would sign up for their emails just to get info and updates but it is not necessary to get the discounts. Call the Disney Convention phone number 714-520-5005 and tell them that you are participating in Dapper Days and want to book a room at the convention rate.Be sure to add park admission tickets to your room reservation. That locks in the discount against any price increase between the time you book and the time you arrive. You will pay one nights stay as a deposit but don`t need to pay for tickets until you check in.. They haven`t required registration to the Dapper Day events in the past but follow the updates as that may change.
I prefer calling to make reservations rather than booking online. Call back about two weeks before arrival to make sure they have everthing in order, like all the room guests names or any special requests like connecting room or concierge

It seems (my interpretation of the fine print) the 1 night deposit is non-refundable.
I prefer to book online, the Disney Meetings site is more flexible than the "regular" site. Reservations can be modified (or cancelled) and room requests added -- all online.

It is printed non-refundable but I was told over the phone that if cancelled at least 5 days prior that it is refunded.I booked two rooms for Dapper Day ,one was Concierge six months in advance. When I called two weeks before our arrival , someone neglected to make that one room Concierge. Good thing to call and check. I don`t know if you can add admission tickets to the room reservation online.

Does the Disney Meetings cover the Dapper Day Convention? When I called the Disney Resort Hotel reservation desk to confirm our Dapper Day and gave them our confirmation or reservation numbers they said it was not in their system. When I told them it was for Dapper Day they said Oh you have to call the convention desk and they transferred me to a different number.

I just wanted to inform the OP that the deposit might be non-refundable. The "small print" when booking Dapper Day is slightly different than Gay Days, although both are booked through the same Disney Meeting site. Adding Concierge (and perhaps tickets) must be done on the phone.

Perhaps I am confused, but I though the Disney Meetings site is the Convention site (different names for the same thing).

I went to the Disney Meetings site and wasn't able to find a Dapper Day page. It was really more of a site that tells you how to book your own convention. Maybe there's a way to find it, but I can't see it for some reason.

Disney doesn't publicly list conventions/meetings/groups. Part of the agreement with anyone getting the reduced rates is that the group itself makes their link available to their participants.

You will need to go to the Dapper Day site and there is a link to book, it is not required to join the Dapper Day mailing list or create an account.
Gay Days does require guests create an account to access the link to book, but the actual booking is done through the same Disney site used for meeting/conventions.

The online information clearly states "one night deposit non-refundable" right up front.
I called to double check the policy. The CM said the one night deposit was NOT refundable on the Fall Dapper Days reservations.

They said the policy change was due to past DD events, where there were mass cancellations at the last minute.

The DD rates are nice for staying on site. The time in the parks during DD events are so much fun. I love to see the variation of duds everyone wears. Good clean family fun for sure. Thank you Justin of DD.

Although the participation is based on the honor code they have mentioned previously that anyone booking under Daper Day discount should either dress nice at least for a little bit during teh DD festivities or at least visit the expo. If Disney catches too many non-participants using the code they might stop offereing it.

Yeah, I guess that makes sense. Otherwise, there would be about three times the normal amount of people signing up for the California Funeral Director's Convention at the DLH.

I had wondered about the different looking cancellation policy. Honestly, it makes a lot of sense to me. The rates are good but not risk loosing your deposit good! Also, your comments make me so excited! My BFF and I are like 90% sure we're going to Dapper Days this year, this might put us up to 100% ;)

I was at the dapper day in May with my daughter and her family. It really is nice to see all the people in their dapper attire! The only thing that was a little disappointing to us was that the Dapper Day fell on the same day as Bat Day ( I think that is what someone told us it is called) Anyway, what a contrast!! You have a family all dressed in such lovely dapper outfits, crossing paths in line with people dressed in dark, goth attire. Too bad they had to be on the same day!

It`s hard to predict how the weather will be for the event. The 30 day forecast before the 2016 Spring predicted the 90s. Even two weeks before it was still predicted to be in the 90s. We were there from 4/28 thru 5/5 and it was in the mid 70s most of the time. It even rained one night. The Fall 2014 DD we went to was triple digits hitting 105 one day

Try approaching some of the Bat Days participants and starting up a conversation. You'd be surprised how friendly and open most of them are. We've had hilarious conversations with Bat Days guests in lines and at restaurants. We do Dapper Days and love chatting with other guests who are "dapper" in a different way.

Does anyone know if the ticket prices for DD are the same/pretty close to those for Gay Days? (I've signed up for the DD email list for purchasing, but haven't seen a purchase link yet. I am trying to plan out our budget & want to decide on a hotel sooner rather than later.)

Don`t know about Gay Day prices, never participated but I can list what we paid for Spring 2016 Dapper Day to compare. Convention rate 5 day park hopper was around $269. Standard room at GCH was $259 , Concierge at GCH was around $484 , Paradise Pier Standard room was $ 185 , Add $17 per night for parking plus resort fees and tax. We booked the reservation in May 2015 for the Spring 2016 . Im sure prices have increased some since then

I believe that the convention ticket prices are the same for DD and Gay Days, at least they were when I looked a few months ago. If you buy them online then you have to pay for them now, but if you call the convention line they will hold them for you and you just pay for them when you check in.
