Dapper Dans win bronze

For those of you who are fans of the Dapper Dans, I thought you might like to know that a few of them just competed at the Barbershop Harmony Society International Competition in Vegas.

Mike McGee, Myron Whittlesey, Tony DeRosa and Roger Ross make up the Main Street Quartet (that's their official Barbershop Harmony Society name) and are all involved with the Dapper Dans at WDW. You can find Mike, Myron and Roger performing on the street; Tony is the Dapper Dans musical director.

While they don't necessarily perform together as Dapper Dans, they do compete and perform together as the Main Street Quartet. Their quartet is inspired by their time as Dapper Dans, from their outfits to their choreography. (Check them out at www.mainstreetqt.com)

Anyway - they placed THIRD in the WORLD at the competition and their performances were AMAZING.

So next time you're at Disney, hanging out on Main Street, U.S.A., take a few minutes to catch the Dapper Dans. Then ask if any of them are members of the Main Street Quartet and congratulate them on their hard earned bronze! They are truly world class barbershoppers!

Thank you for sharing!!!! I'm so happy for them! I seek them out everytime we get to Main Street! They are truly talented and I do hope WDW NEVER ever lets go of the awesome talent that is hidden throughout the park. They are some of the best! My kids love the guys that play in Frontier too.

When we visited last Oct we rode the horse trolley up Main St at opening, a barbershop group hopped on the back and performed. I'm not great at facial recognition but I'm sure 'our' group was not these guys. One of the singers I recognized as a performer at the Adventurer's Club. One night, as Hathaway Brown, he hit on my younger daughter.

How cool is that?! The Dapper Dans are also among my favorite things on Main Street. I'm really hoping we can catch them on our trip in September, as I don't think my husband has ever seen them, and he loves barbershop harmonies.

We saw the Main Street Quartet perform earlier this year at the local Kansas City area Barbershop concert.
They were the featured act and we sat front-row, center…
right in front of them.
