Well DD and I (and Daphne) all seem to have adjusted to having only two of the babies left in our home. It is certainly quieter with only two. Less little kitties to jump out from corners and doorways when you walk by, and less little babies to hop up on my lap for a little lovin' or a nap! I thought about them being left alone in the cage at Petsmart over night, but knew that if they did not get adopted over the weekend that we would have some more time with them this week!
At 10am this morning, DD was waiting at the door to go and see if they were still there to visit them. We walked in and all of our babies were gone!! A bittersweet moment, as I would have loved to see their adorable little faces one more time, and the chance to give them each one more hug (tearing up as I type!)
We talke to the woman that handled the adoptions and said they all went to different homes, but they were the only pet in each home with two adults who all just loved on the babies as soon as they saw them! She said they were the first kittens out the door yesterday morning! I pray that those folks all love our babies as much as we did, and give them long and happy, spoiled and pampered kitty lives!! At least I tool lots of pics to remember their cute little faces, and we still have Simba and Kovu romping around the house. (They are pretty much a pair - and entertain themselves. Occasionally they will curl up next to one of us!!)
We are going to help the rescue foster the animals - if they have a puppy or some kittens that are left unadopted, we will bring one home for the week. We are hoping everyone there got good homes today but if not we will happily have them as guests this week!
They had a pair of Golden Retrievers about 1 1/2 yrs old that needed to be adopted together - they looked so sad in their cages. It said they were best of friends and had been through a lot this past year? I was sad when I saw that!
I'm just a sucker for animals - what can I say!
Thanks everyone for sharing the journey with me! I hope we never have furbabies again, as I don't think I could bear giving them away. (Daphne will be fixed within the next couple of weeks!)
