Daphne's Babies The FINAL Update!

Those kitties are just too cute. :goodvibes

Here are some new photos of the kittens, I took them today. They are one month old today We are sitting on the sofa and they are all here with us. Mostly sleeping, some playing right now. Today was pouncing and biting day. It seems like each day they do something new!

Simba was being elusive and didn't want to be in his own picture tonight!

The day finally came, and I took the three girls to the adoption center at Petsmart. They will be 10 weeks on Sunday, and soon the "cuteness" factor would wear off!

They only had one litter of kittens, so hopefully they will all find good homes this weekend. I told them I would foster them if not and bring them back home on Sunday. I broke down and kept the two boys- we needed some boys in the house! All our other pets are girls. DD has promised that she will care for them and help out more with the other pets. She has been walking Maia the Yorkie without reminder the past week.

I am sad, and cried when I put them in the cage. It was a big comfy cage with a toy and blankets and a pillow, but they had the run of the house for a couple weeks now.

Thanks everyone who let me share this 10 week journey with you!!!!

Awwww, I want to cry right along with you! I know that must have been so tough, but hopefully they will find homes quickly--they are so adorable.

Thanks for the hugs. The house is very quiet without them all running around!

Damn you, quit that, you're going to make me start crying and I have kids around me now and they will really think that I'm losing it if I'm crying over internet kitties and their human mommy. ;) (but I totally understand and would be doing the same thing, me being the big softy that I am...).

I would have such a houseful of animals if I could. Who am I fooling, I already do, with our 2 dogs and 4 cats!

Tara & I went out for some retail therapy - actually I went for one thing, but Kohl's (love the store have only been in it once since it opened here before Thanksgiving - Danger Danger) - was nice enough to give me a credit card today, with an extra 15% off the already great sales prices. I got a nice outfit to wear to Ohanas for a b-day party tomorrow, a new bag and a new lipstick. Tara got a GB game, and we rented a couple movies at Blockbuster on the way home!

We just give the Simba and Kovu lots of hugs. Daphne seems okay so far - not weird behavior (except for stealing a piece of rib eye off my plate..... We will just be giving them lots more hugs and kisses.

Maia the yorkie went to the puppy spa today too - so she is looking extra lovable!

Well DD and I (and Daphne) all seem to have adjusted to having only two of the babies left in our home. It is certainly quieter with only two. Less little kitties to jump out from corners and doorways when you walk by, and less little babies to hop up on my lap for a little lovin' or a nap! I thought about them being left alone in the cage at Petsmart over night, but knew that if they did not get adopted over the weekend that we would have some more time with them this week!

At 10am this morning, DD was waiting at the door to go and see if they were still there to visit them. We walked in and all of our babies were gone!! A bittersweet moment, as I would have loved to see their adorable little faces one more time, and the chance to give them each one more hug (tearing up as I type!)

We talke to the woman that handled the adoptions and said they all went to different homes, but they were the only pet in each home with two adults who all just loved on the babies as soon as they saw them! She said they were the first kittens out the door yesterday morning! I pray that those folks all love our babies as much as we did, and give them long and happy, spoiled and pampered kitty lives!! At least I tool lots of pics to remember their cute little faces, and we still have Simba and Kovu romping around the house. (They are pretty much a pair - and entertain themselves. Occasionally they will curl up next to one of us!!)

We are going to help the rescue foster the animals - if they have a puppy or some kittens that are left unadopted, we will bring one home for the week. We are hoping everyone there got good homes today but if not we will happily have them as guests this week!

They had a pair of Golden Retrievers about 1 1/2 yrs old that needed to be adopted together - they looked so sad in their cages. It said they were best of friends and had been through a lot this past year? I was sad when I saw that!

I'm just a sucker for animals - what can I say!

Thanks everyone for sharing the journey with me! I hope we never have furbabies again, as I don't think I could bear giving them away. (Daphne will be fixed within the next couple of weeks!)

I'm going to miss seeing pictures of the girls, too. How about an updating pic of the boys? I am glad that they found homes so quickly--that's great that they didn't have to sit in a cage for long and went to homes that really wanted them.

Yes, I would love to see some recent pictures of the boys too! :cat:

I will do that if I can get them to stay still long enough! They are so very cute. I still miss my girls though!

We do have a puppy in the house for the week. The resuce needed some help with fostering until Friday morning of this week, they had an unusual amount of puppies this weekend - some had even come in after we were there in the morning.

She is 8 weeks old, a shepard mix, and we have named her Daisy for the week! We didn't just want to call her "Puppy"! She is very good and really loves Tara. I am leaving most of the care up to her (with supervision!). She still has her duties of walking the yorkie and caring for the kittens, so I think she will have a BUSY week!

It's so nice that they found nice homes, though I'm sure it was hard to give up having them all running around. We have not yet started looking for our baby. I was trying to get an idea of what we want so I can better screen ads, but they don't seem to be too picky, so seems we will have one as soon as I want to go out and find it. I know I won't find another Keara out there anywhere, but might be able to find an orange tabby, and I think that's what the boys are leaning towards. Have fun with your twins as they grow!

Is there still a link to their kitten pics? I could not get the page with all the pics to load. I wanted to bookmark it for those crappy days we all have, when sometimes just the sight of a sleepy kitten can make a difference. :teeth:
