Danube Christmas River Cruise West 2021 Meets Thread

Anyone from the forums going on the Danube west bound Christmas Market River Cruise 20 - 27 Dec 2021?

My wife and I were booked for the Vietnam, Cambodia, Laos trip for this Oct when some good friends of ours reached out to see if we were interested in switching itineraries. A little bit of negotiations on location and trip options and we were all able to grab the last 3 rooms on the ship for this Christmas 2021 sailing. Now, we're hoping it goes on as planned and we get to meet some fellow DISers onboard.

Our party will be comprised of my wife and I (Brigitte and Tom) along with our stalwart travel companions (Heather, David and their kids Ella and Sam). This will be Brigitte and my 5th ABD (Peru, NYC, DIS exclusive DisneyLand and Souther California and Norway) and our friends third trip (Peru and Norway). This will be our first river cruise of any sort and we loved Kevin and John's Dreams Unlimited Travel Vlog about this the ship and cruise and we can't wait too sail. We're planning on flying into Budapest a couple of days early to time adjust and spend more time in the city. We'll then end up in Munich at the end of the cruise for a couple extra days as well before flying back home.

Anyone else from this forum going on this sailing?

I'm not but I went on the inaugural Danube Christmas market sailing back in 2015 (I believe). It was an amazing trip and I fell in love with the region (I later did a summer Danube ABD River Cruise as a result). Budapest is such an amazing city for food, culture, and history. I hope you're able to go-I'm jealous

We're planning on flying into Budapest a couple of days early to time adjust and spend more time in the city. We'll then end up in Munich at the end of the cruise for a couple extra days as well before flying back home.

I'm not on this sailing, but I did the Danube River cruise the year ABD introduced their River cruises. It's a fabulous cruise, and AmaWaterways is amazing. The ships are gorgeous and the crew is attentive and skilled. You will love it. I'm glad you're flying into Budapest a couple of days early. That was my one regret was not having more time in Budapest. It's become one of my favorite European cities, and I only had a few hours to explore it.

If you went with ABD, the first season for the River cruises was 2016.
