Danskin Triathlon

Hi All! I have been lurking for a while and decided to post when I found out the Danskin Triathlon is taking place in MK 5/15 (my birthday and kids' first visit to WDW). I was so hoping their first day would start with a walk down Main St., but with the run going all through MK, probably not a good idea. Has anyone been there when this event was going on? Does anyone know what time the run starts/ends and if it is insane to think of going to MK on the 15th? Finally, does anyone know how the street traffic is affected by the bike portion? We are off site and will be driving to the parks. TIA

The race begins at 6:30am, and someone posted on another thread recently that it will be complete before the park opens at 9am.

We'll be at MK that day.

The event has zero effect on the parks. The run is completed before the park even opens. They have cut offs along the route to make sure that everyone is through the park.

They have made it clear to the racers that we need to be done and cleared out by the time the park opens so it shouldn't be a problem for people.
