Dangling above the Las Vegas Strip!

The Stratosphere Hotel Casino is hoping to reopen its X Scream ride on Thursday. A power outage shut down the ride Tuesday night and left a group of Japanese tourists dangling above the Strip for 90 minutes.

This is what the ride looks like, this was also the position these people were stranded for 90 minutes:

Nevada Power says a phone line crossed with powerlines causing the outage. By the time the fire department was called in to help with the rescue, the power was back on and riders had already been unloaded.

Engineers spent the day repairing X Scream. Both city inspectors and OSHA must give the thumbs up before the ride can reopen.

You mean they really BUILT this thing? I saw some plans when they were thinking about it but didn't know it had actually been built!

Like......freaky!

Pretty sure that's one thrill ride I'll be skipping.

Put it this way, I was INSIDE the building and was nervous looking at that thing! No way in heck I would ride any of the rides on the roof of that place!

I thought getting stuck in small world was bad!

I can't wait to try that out next time I go to Vegas along with the other new ride up there. I have riden the coaster and the one that shoots you up the spike which was quite cool.

I've been on that ride. But I must say, I can think of better places to spend 90 minutes.
